I read recently that someone correleted the career of speilburg as beatles like (i.e producing the most popular pieces within its art form)

well i tend to disagree....

here is a list of film directors and what band they seem to be equivalent to...

Hitchcock (Elvis- the king of pop rock/the king of pop cinema)

Kubrick (Beatles - the 10 masterpieces/kubrick 10 masterpieces- will be hard to top)

Tarantino (Nirvana....not a lot of albums/movies...but both have one masterpiece which has shaped the 90's)

Speilburg (u2 - 2nd generation masters..who are unafraid to be commercial and release a piece every 3 years.)

Coen Brothers (Beck- new age artists unafraid to cross genres)

Jean Luc Godard (Kreftwork - europeans who changed the face of music/cinema)

Scorecese (Bowie - experimental but commerical - both gained populairty in the 1970s)

any other sugesstions....

tarantino= nirvana

ii will highly disagree with this:wink:
being that tarantino is one of my fave direcotrs, and i cant stad nirvana at all

also i would disagree with speilberg=u2 ....spielberg is too "hollywood" i guess you can say the same for u2 but only for their later work..

im trying to think of a bob dylan 'equivelant' ...:hmm:

Wes Anderson = something
