I can laugh about it now.

I remember prior to that, Mom thought that my sister and I were old enough to know the truth, so she told us there was no Santa. Well, we both broke down in tears and were absolutely hysterical, so Mom quickly backtracked and said, "I don't know, maybe Santa really is real, I just always thought Dad put the presents out!" So then she called Dad at work to ask him if he put the presents out, and of course he said he didn't, so Santa must exist afterall.

Parenting in a nutshell there! It's just one big ride of guilt trips.
