The Bends

perfect for summer:up:

can't beat...planet telex, high and dry, fake plastic trees, nice dream, just...

The Bends has this perfect "sunny
+ summer" vibe to me...

So much for the city - the thrills. It reminds me of when I went on holiday to ireland one summer everytime I hear it.

& yes I agree with the Bob Marley album.

Other than the obvious fact that it contains a track titled "It's Summertime," it reminds me of driving to and from Austin last summer with the windows down in June. It's a great windows-down summertime drive album.

My summer album is an iPod playlist with a ton of songs that mean "summer" to me.

1.Beautiful Day-U2
2.Ray of Light-Madonna
3.Summer Breeze-Seals and Crofts
4. Moonlight Feels Right-Starbuck
5. Go Your Own Way-Fleetwood Mac
6. Summer of '69'-Bryan Adams
7. Good Vibrations-The Beach Boys
8. Saturday In The Park-Chicago
9. Summer Nights-John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John
10. Soak Up The Sun-Sheryl Crow
11. Sweet Home Alabama-Lynyrd Skynyrd
12. Downtown-Petula Clark
13. Dancing In The Streets-Martha Reeves
14. Easy-The Commodores
15. Sunday Morning-Maroon 5
16. Cruz-Christina Aguilera
17. Summer in the City-The Lovin' Spoonful
18. Summertime Blues-The Who
19. Breathless-Corrine Bailey Rae
20. Summertime-Sam Cooke

I don't know about The Bends. Sure, I think it's one of the greatest albums ever made but is it that summer-y?

high and dry

fake plastic tress...

Nice Dream in a hazy summer afternoon ?

I know only like 5 songs from Reveal, including Imitation, Reno, Lifting, She Just Wants.. and Disappear. From what I've heard, it is indeed very summer-y! Not to mention that cover!

PoP is also a very summe-ry album

Miami

Do You Feel Loved

If You Wear That Velvet Dress :combust:

It's too summery for its own good. I bought it July 4, 2002 (I was 11), so my memories of it are all summer-based.

POP MUZZZIK

Pearl Jam's VS has an open-air, driving-down-the-highway feel with Rearviewmirror, etc.

Neil Young's Harvest Moon is another.

I probably would have chosen The Bends at some point. It now reminds me of the early spring--it was the album playing in my earphones when my dog and I had a close encounter with a mother Black Bear and her two baby cubs while hiking...memories
