There's 2 that really make it for me

maybe they're not even from elvis, but I have a CD with he singing them

MY BOY

IN THE GHETTO (I know this one's his)

and some other... besides SUSPICIOUS MINDS live is AMAZING (Johhny B Good too)

I might have to go with "Suspicious Minds" as well.

"Blue Christmas" is a favorite this time of year as well.

I haven't heard too much Elvis other than the biggest hits like Don't Be Cruel, Jailhouse Rock, Can't Help Falling In Love etc.

Presley not Costello. Although Mr McManus is very cool too.

He does not! :madspit:

Costello writes infinitely better songs than Presley ever did.

^yes (My Costello partner to the defense!)

Presley - ??
Costello = What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love & Understanding  (for Marty  )

But, erm... Lila...
Elvis Costello didn't write that song. Nick Lowe wrote it.

'Pump It Up' is brilliant though.
And 'I Want You'. And 'Town Cryer'. And 'New Amsterdam'. And 'Deep Dark Truthful Mirror'. And a gazillion other ones.

'..memories, written in the pages of my mind' is this his?
i love suspicious minds also, love me tender, surrender, always on my mind:drool:

Well Elvis Presley didn't write many of his own songs, and Elvis Costello was doing a cover of Peace, Love and Understanding.

Still, Can't Help Falling in Love and I Want You respectively.

My favorite is 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?'

but, I LOVE 'Make the World Go Away', his versions of 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling' and 'Unchained Melody'.

Don't discount the late Elvis.....very powerful.

He has never left the building.

My grandma's cousin is a jazz drummer who played with Elvis and was in two of his movies. I've got a cd of some demos they did together...John doesn't want the cd to leak to the public, which is a shame. It's some great jamming with them from the early 60s! John is in his late 70s now. My secret :sexywink:
