Forgive me if this has been asked before (I can't use the search option, heh), but what's the most obscure song you've ever heard? For me, it would be "Three Little Pigs" by Green Jelly. It's extremely odd, but rather catchy.

hmm, I'm gonna say "What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body?" by Frank Zappa, but I'm sure Zappa, Aphex Twin and TISM have done stuff stranger than that

oh and the strangest song Ive ever heard is one that's called

because I got high or something like that. I dunno who did it but it's this guy telling all these situations and then he gets high and eventually his life gets kinda shattered.....it's a weird and funny song heh

blood for blood (boston hardcore band) covering del shannon's "runaway"

that's the most recent strange thing i've heard, but i can't remember if it's the strangest ever.

Which reminds me, i heard a local band cover "Red Rubber Ball" by Simon and Garfunkel (and yes, that IS a S&G song! I know some other band did it too, but S&G wrote it!) Anyway, the band's sound is nothing like S&G, much more hard rock. Maybe punk. Hard for me to tell...

there's only one answer to this question. "stop ou encore" by plastic bertrand. i have no idea what is going on in that song... i play a game with my friends where i make them listen to it and tell me how long it is...usually they say 5 or 6 mins but it's just 3 mins of god awful noise. a close second is the original version of "head like a hole" by devo... very strange...

I don't know about the strangest song I've heard - probably something off of Bjork's latest album.

As far as possibly the strangest reaction I've had to a song - it was probably Ministry's "Psalm 69."

the cyrkle did the version everyone's familiar with.

uh...speaking of simon & garfunkel....me first and the gimme gimmes did 'i am a rock'...but that's what they do, so it's not really strange.

I love U2's Babyface but to me, that's still a weird awesome song.;) Along with great Lemon!;):)

There are more, but I can't really think now of they are, but maybe Ben Lee's awesome "In the Morning." song.

That one that gos like this:
You and me baby ain't nothin but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the discovery channel...

I don't know what it's called.
And that one song... is it called "Blue"?

No. lol.;) :) It's by "Blood Hound Gang" called "Discovery Channel" or something. Very funny, I do like it. lol.;):)

Pink Floyd's "Bike" left me staring at the cd player when I first heard it

I like Quuen but that is a funny song, sometimes I would hear my teacher mumble "I want my bike, my bicyle." And I would laugh. lol.;)

Oh, sorry, I don't know that Pink Floyd song, I thought you meant a Queen song. lol.;)

Los Bastardos by Primus. It has a few Young Ones samples in it!

Does it really?! I'll have to download that then, that's brilliant.

As for me... I'm not sure what mine is. Bigmouth Strikes Again by the Smiths, maybe?

My strange/disturbing vote goes to Leonard Cohen's "Dress Rehearsal Rag"...which made me want to stick rusty coathangers in my eyes!

My strange/weird vote goes to Frank Zappa's "Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch".

But then again, the terms 'strange/weird' and 'Frank Zappa' are really quite redundant.

Hmm...Bjork's "Oceania" (anything by Bjork, really) probably ranks up there.

Maybe one of MC Hawking's songs.

Sadly, I didn't *hear* the song, but my sister reports having heard "the weirdest, worst song ever" at a Ben Kweller concert, performed by "the worst opening band ever" called The Unicorns. She said their closing song was called "We're The Unicorns--and We're People Too."

The Cure - Subway Song.
Everybody who heard it knows what I'm talking about! I love that shriek!

I was thinking about this question and couldnt come up with a good answer, then I realized that what I was listening to at the moment pretty much fit this description.

I cant pick a song, but the 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea' album by Neutral Milk Hotel contains some of the weirdest songs ever. On first listen, some are almost completely unlikable, containing some bizarre and off the wall lyrics and instrumentation. On further spins you start to realize all that's going on in the songs, or how simple they really are. I cannot explain why I even like this stuff to myself, I wouldnt think I'd like it in many ways.

I found this description of the album on allmusic.com, and I really agree with it:

"Perhaps best likened to a marching band on an acid trip, Neutral Milk Hotel's second album is another quixotic sonic parade; lo-fi yet lush, impenetrable yet wholly accessible, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is either the work of a genius or an utter crackpot, with the truth probably falling somewhere in between. ....In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is undoubtedly a major statement, but just what it's saying is anyone's guess."

i can't listen to pink floyd.

seriously. when i hear their music, i get overwhelmingly uncomfortable and shut it off as quickly as possible. i'm not kidding. i literally get scared. i don't know what it is, but it terrifies me.

i guess it's like, a pink phobia.

or something.
