I hope not. My opinion of her has really changed since she did this. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first time she shoplifted. I'm glad she got caught.

I don't know what's happening w/ the trial. They showed the video-I think it was on Extra-and her lawyer says it doesn't show her shoplifting. I thought they were still going through w/ the charges against her, but I'm not sure.

In this week's Star Magazine, there's a pic of her at a mall food court w/ a bottle of ketchup in her pocket!(the pic certainly looks like her) If they had it on their web site, I'd post it here.

hmmm....well, she is the guest host of Saturday Night Live this week. It will be interesting to see if she makes fun of herself and this whole debacle. But I swear, if her lips touch Jimmy Fallon's lips-- even if its just "acting" I'm going after her.
 
From what I gather, the shoplifting charges were dropped because the tape showed otherwise. She still has been charge with posession of medication without a prescription. Don't know if that would go to court. She probably just got a fine. Celebrities rarele have to endure what 'regular' people would.

I personally think she is an idiot, and the world's worst rock star groupie ever, and I am not just talking about her friendship with Bono.

my sentiments exactly.

as for Pacino, I think she said they're just friends. Rumor is that she's dating Jack White from the White Stripes -- which would definitely fit in to her groupie mode. Johnny Depp must've really screwed her over back in the '80s because she's dated a whole lot of rock stars-- not actors-- since then. I think Matt Damon is the only exception.

I just saw on the local LA news that Winona and her attorney were ordered to appear in court today after 4 previous postponements. The judge was not happy about the delays and said the prelim. hearing would take place this morning.

The security manager from one of the stores was called to the stand and apparently Winona didn't like what he had to say because after the lunch break, the poor thing had to leave the courthouse because "her right arm is bothering her" and she needs to see a doctor. :eyebrow: Uh huh.

The judge let her go but told her to be back in court by 3:30 today. Oh brother.

A final thought on this matter....I'm no legal expert but if her attorney has the receipts to prove she paid for everything, why didn't he give them to the D.A. BEFORE the case went to court?
 
Well, whatever the case may be, I still think shes a talented and attractive actress, with all the shit that goes on in hollywood im certainly not going to boycott Alien Resurrection or Mr. Deeds or any other movie she has been/will be in just because of a shoplifting case... There are much worse people out there, *koughrobertdownjrkough* its not like scandals arent a big thing in hollywood, theyre normal people like you and I except theyre always faced wtih public spotlight and they have horrendous ammounts of money. Think about this though, is millions of dollars an equitible trade-off for having zero privacy?
 
Not that I care, but according to CNN, Winona left the courtroom after recess because she was hit on the arm by a microphone or camera. And her escorting bailiff was hit in the head with a camera. Pretty funny! What a circus!

I used to enjoy Winona as an actress, although I do feel that her talents are overrated. She seemed so out of sorts on SNL a few weeks back, as if she was on some sort of drug. Probably was considering it was her first public speaking appearance since her arrest in December. :laugh: :laugh:

As for all this circus, I'm sure it must be doing her some good because bad publicity is better than no publicity and I don't know what she is doing now. Do you guys really think Al Pacino is going out with her? I don't think so. I think Al can do way better than her!!!

This is just my opinion of course!!
 
i like wynona...i think she's a great actress, i wouldnt know about her being overrated though. as for her being in trouble with the law...i hope she gets help. i would hate to see her keep going at that rate.

And as for Al - He has been with actress Beverly D'Angelo for many years, and they have two infant sons together.

and then to top it off, after she was hit in the right arm she walked out nursing her left arm. riiiiiiight. lame. her attorney came up with some hilarious excuse as to why she was holding up the wrong arm. eventually they bandaged up her right arm. probably so she could remember which one was supposed to hurt.
