OK, I browsed my record collection and here are some great records from 1998:

Catatonia - International Velvet
Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation Of... (the interludes are horrible, but the songs are great)
La Oreja De Van Gogh - Dile Al Sol
Pearl Jam - Yield
Shakira - Donde Estan Los Ladrones?

Other great records released that year (but I don't have them (yet?)):
Air - Moon Safari
Fatboy Slim - You've Come A Long Way Baby
Massive Attack - Mezzanine
Neil Finn - Try Whistling This
Manic Street Preachers - This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours (for Yertle )

C ya!

Yeah, and the worst thing is that those interludes aren't separate tracks, but are tacked to the end of songs. So you cannot program your CD-player to skip them.

BTW, I forgot to add Robbie Robertson - Contact From The Underworld Of Redboy

C ya!

I can't think of anything (other than best of) that came out that year I ever bought. 1999 either. The late 90's were IMO the worst era for rock since the very early 60's. It's a bit better now, but I'm still waiting for the next big thing to finally blow the rock rap and teen pop into history.
