I think I'm going to be getting some ITunes digital gift certificates for Christmas...what records from the past year or two would be good gifts for me? Just looking for suggestions.

"the killers - hot fuss" is great
and what i've heard off "snow patrol - final straw" is really good

i also fancy both the killers and snow patrol. i've listened to both obsessively over the last year.

i'd also like to suggest keane - hopes and fears .. i thoroughly enjoy that album as well.

ace list there, not a weak tune in the lot!
not sure what kind of music you like...every now and then i get in the mood for something really heavy and rhythmic. the album 'slip' by quicksand is older (1993), and one of the best records ever. it's influence is apparent in everything from rage against the machine to tool. worth a look for sure. my cd is beat to hell...

It's okay. There are some really beautiful songs on it, but it's a very mellow, prairie-folksy sort of album.

I really like it although many hate it. Very Mellow. The side singers do get to me sometimes but there are these moments of just sheer beauty interspersed around the album.

It fits a mood perfectly. To me it falls in to the Unforgettable Fire mood nitch.

Do you have any Tom Waits? He did have a very good album last year, Real Gone, but he's so overlooked (yet legendary in his own way) that I felt I had to throw it out there.
