Wow, amazing film, I guarantee if you watch it again you will like it even more. Sicy and Daafish dont feel the same as I do on this one and we debated this in the random thread. Thats why she chose the no comment reply. As I said before this film has so many layers and is a truly incredible film. Not to mention a great soundtrack. Radiohead, U2, Sigur Ros, REM and others. :|

please tell me somebody has said Momento!!!

that movie had my brain churning for weeks after!! amazing!!

Usual Suspects...killer ending!!

I just watched the extended LOTR dvd last night and I was blown away. I don't see how anyone will go back and watch the original after they've seen this!!
it's quite amazing...much more fluid and coherent as well

"Mordor, Gandalf...which way...left or right?"
"Left, Frodo"

ROYAL TENENBAUMS!! I've said it before and I'll say it again...best movie I've seen since LOTR last december

Shawshank Redemption
Braveheart!! I've seen this over 20 times and I can quote almost every line

because I am a nerd and a loser, I admit

Check out my original post, I agree with all of your opinions here....

Here is what I said about vanilla sky in a previous thread....sums it up pretty well for me......

OK.....I really enjoy thought provoking and challenging films, this one just did that very well. What I mean by layers are that the film can be interpreted many different ways. Was it all a dream? Was it only half a dream? Ive heard and read about 5 or 6 differnet interpretations.
Modern cinema so often bombards us with films that are shitty that people have switched off their brains and when something totally engaging and thoughtful like this comes along it automatically gets booed and thats why I think many didnt enjoy it.
Watch a second time and you will enjoy it much more......:|

Ah yes...isn't rushmore kinda like Royal Tennenbaums or something?
I've heard so, anyway

and, of course, I agree with the Quintin movies....if nothing else, his movies have the best dialouges ever!

"what do they call a quarter pounder with cheese in france?"

DAMN!!!

how could I forget!!!

Swingers is a classic and a staple within my circle of friends!!

and made too!!!

you need to get the made dvd if only for the outtakes....they will make ANY person laugh...I GUARUNTEE IT!!!

I loved Vanilla Sky, but what still confuses me, are the images he sees when falling to ground..

are they supposed to be family and what he watched on TV , and the growin up over the era?

Alot of those images are actually Tom Cruise as a boy, I think he is haveing these memories flash before his eyes in a sense as he begins to wake up from the cryogenic freeze......or is it a dream he wakes from??? hmmmmmm.....

If you have the DVD I highly recommend watching with the directors commentary....Cameron Crowe is very passionate about this film and provides alot of insight on the movie..........

Yea Presley mate, mums buyin me a PS2 from Christmas, so I WILL be hirin out the DVD to see the whole thang after.....

see, its like, see those first few scenes, including scene from Red Balloon and then a sudden next one of a boy like shoutin, then it cuts and cuts then one of woman, child in a boat?

is it from there, him? but not in those films scenes obviously!

From what I could gather from the directors commentary is the old footage that looks like a kid and his mum are actually some of Tom's old home movies. However I think what they are aiming at is "your life flashing before our eyes" type of thing. The scenes themself may not matter......:|

thanks for the recommendations

my son #2 needs a new CD player for his room and I think he is going to buy a DVD player....Yay!! Son #1 just invited me around to watch the extended LOTR DVD on his big screen TV..YAY2also!!
(he still thinks it was wrong that gandalf hit his head in Bilbo's house...wizard's and especially gandalf, would not bump his head...there was no need for slapstick ihho. Except for that minor detail...we loveth Peter Jackson's rendition of tolkiens' tale. We're getting very excited about going to see TTT)

I'm not fond of Tom Cruise, but shall have to watch Vanilla Sky now.I haven't seen anything recent. Reconmendations are always appreciated.
I own a VHS copy of Labryinth....and lots and lots of music videos.
