Emma M. Nutt Day

Emma M. Nutt Day celebrates the first woman telephone operator in America.

This special day celebrates the world of telephone operators. It was a very important job for many decades. Today, the position has been eliminated being replaced by automation in telephone systems.

A little side note about Emma: According to Emma, she was "very thankful that my first name was not Imma".

October 6th is German-American Day and Come and Take it Day. Not really sure what Come and Take it Day is, but it sounds good to me...

This is the first time I've heard about it, but apparently my birthday, July 28, is:

National Milk Chocolate Day

Hmmm, yummy! Could be much worse, I'd say.

(Like being born on May 10  -
Clean up your room day )

April 30=Beltane. I had a literature professor in college that was fascinated by that little random fact. She must have celebrated the holiday

"Beltane is an ancient Gaelic holiday celebrated around May 1. Historically, this festival was celebrated in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man."

National Vanilla Ice Cream Day. I'm going to assume that's French Vanilla.

March 15 is . . . . Buzzard's Day and Everything You Think Is Wrong Day.
