What concerts have you been to so far this year?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I have a lousy memory...so I will try here:

Interpol (minneapolis)

Doves (Philly)
A crap load of bands at Intonation Festival (Chicago)

Have tickets:

Rolling Stones (Hershey - with BECK)

Wish list:

Sujian Stevens (Philly)
Doves (Baltimore)
Arcade Fire (anywhere)
Bloc Party (Philly)

U2 - Chicago
Stereophonics - Atlanta
Snow Patrol - Atlanta

Coming up, MVD will be attending the following concerts:

Coldplay - Atlanta

I would love to see David Gray but can't afford that one right now. :(

Apparently, I have no desire to see any bands from the US.

U2-San Diego March 28
Gaelic Storm Minneapolis, MN April 29
U2-Chicago May 7, 9, 10
U2-Dublin June 24,5
Def Leppard St Paul, MN July 29

5 more U2 shows in the Fall :D I wanted to go to Ozzfest this year but with all of the U2 shows I had to cut myself off somewhere.

Not that many this year, actually. It's probably been the slowest year for me in terms of concerts.

Arcade Fire
Springsteen
U2
Interpol

Keane, Duran Duran, and U2 in December. :hyper: Holding out hope for U2 in October but not likely to happen. But at least I'm seeing them this year. :)

I haven't been to very many this year.

Idlewild
British Sea Power
The Dears
Tom McRae
Ed Harcourt
Starsailor
U2
Doves
El Hula
...that's all I can remember.

Upcoming:

The Magic Numbers (October)
Super Furry Animals (September)
possibly The Trachtenburg Family Slide Show Players

Four U2 shows, San Diego, LA and 2 shows in Phoenix.
I also saw a Killers concert in Las Vegas.
This week I will be seeing White Strpes, I just have to get my tickets.
I am seeing Live in Anaheim on Sept.18.
Two more U2 shows in the fall. (LA & NYC), I am trying for Vegas.

That is pretty much is it for me. I consider myself so lucky.

What night are you seeing the White Stripes? I think I'm supposed to go on Monday evening. Hubby is going to more than one show though.... Let me know!

I think I've only seen three U2 shows this year (San Diego 1, Anaheim 1, LA 1). I'm going to Tom Petty and the Black Crowes Sunday (so excited to finally be going to a Black Crowes concert, I've been a fan for at least 15 years). John Mayer is in the middle of September (another show I can't wait for). Then there's three more U2 shows in November (LA 1, Vegas 1 and MSG 1).

I wanted to see the Black Crowes again, but didn't want to drive to bumfuck Calif. to see them open for Tom Petty, nor do I want to go to the Long Beach Blues Festival. This is the only city/market they aren't playing a proper show. It makes me so mad  I saw them when the played with Oasis in Santa Barbara on the last BC album, but the album had just come out and was kinda weak, and they only played about an hour of mostly new songs. At 10:00pm, it was over (curfew in Santa Barbara I think). I was disappointed. But I did catch the BC/Jimmy Page show at the Greek. That was awesome. Now if I can just catch a show by them headlining. It that too much to ask? Hope you have a good time though! And if you know of any extra (decent) LA tix, keep me in mind - I'm still in need

Blockbuster isn't too far from where I live so it ends up being pretty handy and my brother got me the tickets for my birthday so all the better. I was actually supposed to see The Black Crowes on 9/11 but, obviously, the show got postponed, then cancelled and then the band broke up. I never thought I'd get another opportunity to go to a Black Crowes show and am really thrilled about Sunday (plus Tom Petty is so cool as well, it seems like it will be an all-around great evening).

Yeah, you'll have a good time. I'm in Ventura County, and that's too much of a haul for me on my own...

I had won 8th row tix from KLOS for the 2nd leg of the Black Crowes/Jimmy Page tour a few years ago. Then the show got postponed, and then eventually cancelled. They never really offered any compensation either  Calif. Adventure was opening at the time, but my daughter was too young, and I just passed on the tix. Although we are going next week

I had also won tix for the Drama Tour at the Wiltern a couple weeks ago (guys from Yes). But of course, that got cancelled too :madspit:

By the way:

Heh heh - working for a ticket agency here in Aust helps - so I've seen a few...

Avril Lavigne (crap, but the kids loved it)
Nelly (crap - and no-one loved it)
REM (awesome)
Ben Folds (Sublime - just magic)
Sigur Ros (again, awesome)
Delta Goodrem (Ugh, next. Too much pap)
Hanson (Now they ROCKED!)
Dave Matthews Band (Fantastic)
Bette Midler (free tix - wanted a refund!!)
Cher (Whats the point of bitching - it was more of a Broadway show than a concert, yet was quite entertaining).
The Polyphonic Spree (I cant really make up mind if it was good)
Moby (Yeah - he was OK)

Musicals I've seen -

We Will Rock You (Excellent)
The Lion King (Yawn)
Dirty Dancing (Barf)
The Producers (Meh, OK)

I think there were more - lots of littler bands and festival side shows...

I was planning on seeing Ibrahim Ferrer and had bought tickets to his concert last week. Then this weekend he sadly passed away. :( R.I.P. Bueno hermano.

And while I don't have any tickets for shows this summer and fall, I might go to Jasper Steverlinck and even maybe-er to Bob Dylan.

My preliminary schedule for the fall currently looks like:

14 October: Krezip, Utrecht
21 October: Admiral Freebee, Utrecht
3 November: Jasper Steverlinck, Den Haag
11 December: Franz Ferdinand, Amsterdam

And I'm still thinking of going to Jasper Steverlinck in Utrecht too.

:)

Not as many as I'd like, that's for sure.

Been to:
U2 in Chicago, May 9th
Tori Amos in Toronto, August 27th

Going to:
Our Lady Peace/Finger Eleven/Sloan in Stratford, September 10th
U2 in Toronto, September 17th
