Pete Murray

If you like the sound of Pete Murray, you might also like Something for Kate. :) [who actually did an amusing cover of "Genie in a Bottle" for a particular radio show where artists covered tracks completely unlike their style.]

i've got all the music on my computer in one playlist that i sometimes put on random. that's what i'm listening to right now...it's funny as hell hearing a blood for blood intro right before coldplay. fucking hilarious, actually.

i'm being as honest as possible, there's plenty of stuff on here i'd be better off pleading the 5th about and not incriminating myself...whatever. i don't care. there's a wide range for every given band - i may only have 1 song (good charolette, john mellencamp), i maye have all the albums plus b-sides and bootlegs (u2, dropkick murphys).

Katrina and the Waves sang "Walking on Sunshine" . Is that the version you mean? Doesnt really fit with the rest of your music :slant:

hahaha, yes that's it.

no it doesn't fit. but it's at that end part of the list. from the alkaline trio down is all the stuff in the "emo & wussy pop-rock & guilty pleasures" folder. but a lot of those bands that i'd stand behind as bands i like don't go together. like the blood for blood/coldplay thing...agnostic front/counting crows.

:shifty:

i forgot to include all the stuff on the ramones tribute album...

it was a horrible song when i saw some local punk band pretend they were me first and the gimme gimmes, and try to cover it.

actually, they weren't a punk band. let's get that straight: they were an EMOCORE band.

I have nothing at the moment, as I just formatted my laptop and haven't imported my music back in from my network.

Hey, IWB... there is no shame to Ben Folds, dear. None. (unless the only song you have is "Brick")

not 'brick', iv'e got three:

army
rockin the suburbs
your redneck past

which is hardly any better...:shifty:

Nah, Ben is witty as hell. Nothing wrong there. Poignant, too. But you need to check out 'The Battle of Who Could Care Less," "The Luckiest," "Annie Waits," "Zak and Sara," "Not the Same," "Carrying Cathy," "The Best Imitation of Myself," "Underground" (This one should hit home for you in terms of big posers), "Magic" and "Mess" (one of the saddest songs I've ever heard)

Oh, and

"All U Can Eat," "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman" (Darkness cover), and "There's Always Someone Cooler than You." Cure fan? Then try "In Between Days"

i've got 'the battle of who could care less', and 'underground' on tapes somewhere at home  back from the days where i used to tape stuff off the radio. good stuff. and i think that angry dwarf or something 'kiss my ass goodbye' song was on there too. hell, 'brick' is probably on a tape somewhere in my room at home.

i've always felt kind of like, 'well i think i like this guy's music. but admiting that makes me more of a wuss than i already am...but who cares...but it's still really wimpy...' back and forth, and so on...

i'll boot up soulseek and see if it will let me download stuff (it's been giving me trouble lately), and watch...sometime in the not-so-distant future i'll be posting about how i bought a few ben folds albums.

when the live album with the bonus dvd came out, i reviewed it for the radio station, and i really liked it. sounded like it was a lot of fun at those shows, and even if i didn't particularly like a song i could appreciate it.

i'm not entirely sure either, but i took it to mean winamp playlist...
