You know what else is good & and the colors are just right for Christmas. Cranberry or Sour Apple Martinis--we coat the rims of our martini glasses with colored sugar.

Home made fudge
Rum cake
and I make a mean little white cookie -- something like the Archway nutty nougat cookies -- I misread the recipe the first time I made them, but it turned out so good I just keep making them the screwed up way!

Yum yum yum yum!

and I also loved the bourbon balls my former neighbor used to make but haven't had them in years. Their family got religion (the bad kind too -- frowns upon alcohol and push to convert heathens like me -- so the bourbon balls are just a distant happy memory....

We DO need a food forum.... "Take This Food & Make it Bake"????? (OK - so I'll never win a "Name the New Forum" contest! )

Anyway, NBC, you don't cook the sausage first. You mix everything raw & it fully cooks in the oven. Let me know if you want the recipe. I'll even throw in my super secret technique for making them mix easier!

My preference is the top one, the milk chocolate I recommend eating this one most of the time, but there will be an occasion (or two) where you may indeed become fatigued from its overwheming goodness. When that stage sadly arrives, I suggest going with the dark (just to change up the gears on the taste buds so you can return to its brilliance in the final stretch of the season).

Of course, for the ultimate change-up, there's the white version--which is pretty decent for a third alternative. And it does provide the ultimate in contrast to the milk chocolate original.
