I never get all the love for Optimistic. It's by far my least favorite song on Kid A. I mean, it's not like I have a problem with people loving it or anything, but I just don't see it. Better than HTDC? Better than EIIRP? Better than The National Anthem? Better than Motion Picture Soundtrack?

It's a good song but nothing too special. It's way better in the context of Kid A though.

Treefingers is the shit. It reminds me of something on the second side of David Bowie's Low

1. The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize??
2. Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
3. Flaming Lips - Fight Test
4. Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely
5. Uhh....gotta think about it.

Wow. I never realized many people love this song. I don't even think it's in the top 5 for best songs on the album.

It's my anthem for sleep deprivation at this time in the semester.

This was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

1. Wilco--Jesus, Etc.
2. Ray LaMontagne--Jolene
3. U2--City of Blinding Lights
4. Lucinda Williams--Essence
5. John Legend--Live It Up

Honorable Mentions:
Ryan Adams--My Winding Wheel
The Killers--Believe Me Natalie

2. Broken Social Scene - Lover's Spit (Redux)
3. Sigur Ros - Untitled 8
4. Wilco - Poor Places

Something like that. It probably can and will change tomorrow.

2. Coldplay - The Scientist
3. Royksopp - Remind Me
4. U2 - Kite
5. Daft Punk - Something About Us

Treefingers is only one step above Viva Davidoff in the "worthless and boring" category. It admittingly does work in the context of the album, but I'd never listen to it just on its own.

no order, picking only one per band:

Muse - Hysteria
Editors - Munich
U2 - Beautiful Day
Bloc Party - Pioneers
Keane - Nothing in my Way

it's weird, but two of those are by bands I don't even own a complete album of  but they're like the top played songs on my iPod...

Honorable Mentions:
Wilco - Jesus Etc., Wishful Thinking, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, Poor Places, Impossible Germany...
U2 - Original of the Species, Vertigo, Walk On, In a Little While, ...does Mercy count?
Bloc Party - practically every song. especially This Modern Love, Uniform, Hunting for Witches, Waiting for the 7.18, So Here We Are, Where is Home?...yeah like I said, pretty much everything
Arcade Fire - No Cars Go, Rebellion (Lies), Windowsill, Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
Alien Ant Farm - Crickets, Courage. Drifting Apart
Bright Eyes - We Are Nowhere and It's Now, Method Acting, Bowl of Oranges, Nothing Gets Crossed Out
Coldplay - Don't Panic

I could go on and on, really...
I bet like half the music on my iPod is from this decade.

Blur - 'Out of Time'
Manic Street Preachers - 'Solitude Sometimes Is'
Guillemots - 'We're Here'
The Delgados - 'The Light Before We Land'
Snow Patrol - 'Run'

Well off the top of my head.

God, let's see, I hope these are all post-2000

Bloc Party. - Like Eating Glass
Radiohead - How To Disappear Completely
Beyonce - Crazy In Love
Doves - Snowden

Weezer - Don't Let Go
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Black Tongue
Soul Theory - Drama [Warren Clark Club Mix]
Underworld - Sola Sistem
Wilco - I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

Okay, that's more than 5. So sue me.

This thread is almost impossible for me to respond to. I think it may take me a month to formulate a proper response...

At this point, I'm sure only of OutKast's "Hey Ya" and Broken Social Scene's "Anthems for a Seventeen-Year-Old Girl."

1. Josh Rouse - Winter In The Hamptons
2. U2 - Love & Peace Or Else
3. Oasis - Part Of The Queue
4. Travis - Driftwood (came out in the U.S. in Jan 2000)
5. Til Kingdom Come - Coldplay

Honorable Mentions:

Josh Rouse - Street Lights, Sad Eyes, Life
The Decemberists - Engnie Driver
U2 - In A Little While, Beautiful Day, Original Of The Species, SYCMIOYO
Oasis - Songbird, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Importance of Being Idle, Love Like A Bomb, Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders?

The Killers - Believe Me Natalie, All These Things That I Have Done

This is all I can think of without my now broken iPod handy...how I miss the music during work... :(

Doh!:banghead: How could I have forgot these???!!!

That Killers song is DEFINITELY one of my favorites of the decade. I saw them do it live before I even had the album and I just FELL IN LOVE with it from that first performance!!!

As for the Jay Z, I like DJ Dangermouse's Grey Album mix the best. 99 Problems + Helter Skeleter.

I can't wait till Radiohead's LP7 comes out and I get to hear a proper version of Arpeggi.

Because if we already had a studio version of that song, I gaurantee it would be on my list. I've listened to the Ether Fest. version a trillion times already.
