2-Liam Gallagher ( def. maybe. and whats the story)
3.Freddie Mercury
4.David Bowie
5.Ian Brown

  1. Bono (1984-1992; 2000-especially the present - I think his voice now is the best ever);
  2. Freddy Mercury (sometimes overly dramatic, but fit with Queen's music);
  3. Katie Pierson/Cindy Wilson (love Pierson by herself, but with Wilson, they created the best harmonies ever in a band (B-52's));
  4. Boy George/George Michael (effeminate sounding as they are, they both have outstanding voices);
  5. Alicia Keys (not a big fan of her music, but love her voice).

carrieluvv- what i think is so amazing about Morrissey is that his voice doesn't seem to have changed at all. But I wouldn't put him as one of my top five most pleasing vocalists.

Sarah McLachlan
Freddie Mercury
Jeff Buckley
Early 70s Elton John
Bono

This is a very tentative list. It will change before I hit reply. While I find these voices most pleasing, I can honestly say I'd rather hear the following in many cases

Dave King
Shane McGowan
Tom Waits
Bob Dylan
Joe Strummer
Mick Jones (grossly underrated)

Jick, I really hope you're kidding with that about Bon Jovi!

1. Eddie Vedder
2. Jim Morrison
3. Bono
4. Michael Stipe
5. Frank Black

In no particular order and excluding Bono....

Nina Simone
Enrico Caruso
John Lydon
Edith Piaf
Sam Cooke

(Man, Paul Weller, Marvin Gaye and Ella Fitzgerald should be in there as well! This is way to difficult for me!!)

How in God's name has no one mentioned the Angel of Harlem yet?

Anyone ever hear of Billie Holliday?

I don't know if there's a better voice in history.

In addition:

Van Morrison
Sinead O'Connor
Bjork
Marvin Gaye

oh yeah, and Bono
