Western Conference Playoff Race [NHL]

Well things are really heating up in the West.

RNK TEAM GP W L T RT PTS GF GA HOME ROAD
1 DETROIT 72 50 14 6 2 108 225 154 27-6-3 23-10-3
2 COLORADO 73 40 25 7 1 88 184 151 22-12-3 18-14-4
3 SAN JOSE 72 37 24 8 3 85 209 175 19-12-3 18-15-5
4 CHICAGO 72 36 23 12 1 85 195 185 24-7-5 12-17-7
5 LOS ANGELES 72 36 23 9 4 85 191 164 18-13-5 18-14-4
6 ST LOUIS 71 35 24 8 4 82 191 164 22-11-1 13-17-7
7 PHOENIX 72 34 24 9 5 82 191 181 23-10-3 11-19-6
8 DALLAS 71 33 24 10 4 80 193 187 15-16-5 18-12-5
9 EDMONTON 73 33 26 11 3 80 185 167 19-13-3 14-16-8
10 VANCOUVER 73 34 30 6 3 77 218 192 17-13-5 17-20-1

From third to ninth there is only five points seperating them. The Oilers have won 5 in a row and Salo is the hottest player in the league right now with 4 goals in his last 5 games. Vancover has also picked up their game with 6 wins in their last 8.

This is the best race in the last few years IMO.

I do think the two teams left out will be Van and Dallas. Edmonton have been in a playoff race for 5 staright years they are used to the preesure.

While the east isnt as clogged it still looks to be a good race.

7 NEW JERSEY 71 32 26 9 4 77 173 165 18-14-4 14-16-5
8 MONTREAL 72 29 28 12 3 73 183 191 17-12-6 12-19-6
9 WASHINGTON 73 30 32 10 1 71 200 222 18-13-5 12-20-5
10 NY RANGERS 73 31 34 4 4 70 197 227 18-18-2 13-20-2
11 BUFFALO 72 30 32 9 1 70 186 178 18-14-4 12-19-5

I really hope Montreal makes it since they have so much bad luck. I would love to see Montreal fans get to see a playoff game. Saku is on his way back as well as Audette. They would make a tough first round team.

pity they're all just racing for a chance to get beaten by the Flyers in the end and they don't even know it
