Published Jul 9, 2002
Former Replacements frontman Paul Westerberg is hitting the road this summer for his first tour in six years.
Westerberg kicks off the tour July 25 in Los Angeles.
Other shows are scheduled in Buffalo, N.Y.; Toronto; Detroit; Cincinnati; Indianapolis; Cleveland; Chicago; Madison, Wis.; Atlanta; Carrboro, N.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Philadelphia and Washington.
More dates will follow.
Westerberg, 42, did some in-store appearances this spring to promote ``Stereo,'' his fourth solo album, a two-CD set released by independent Vagrant Records. He recently performed three sold-out shows at the Guthrie Theater in his hometown of Minneapolis.
The Replacements, a post-punk Minneapolis band, rose from indie-record glory in the 1980s to a national deal, but broke up in 1991. Westerberg hasn't toured since 1996, when he released his second solo album, ``Eventually.''
