you can vote without being registered for a party, you can be independent or unregistered. you just can't vot ein a party's primary in a lot of states unless you're a registered member. fair i think.Thanks, yeah, that's what I meant. Forcing you guys to associate with a particular party just so you can vote is something I don't even understand the logistics of. Why? Of what benefit is this, beyond numbers? If you had a neutral national electoral roll with everyone's ID up to date there'd be no need for this. It'd be wholly optional for those who are keen to do whatever they do with their parties. I dunno. Maybe our system wouldn't work in a country of your size. I do really like Australia's voting practice.
