No Surrender was a request. Just moments before the show (8pm-ish)started a young woman who is going through chemo was escorted backstage to meet Bruce and the band. When she returned she walked through the pit and said she asked for No Surrender.
Then they opened with it for her. Very cool.

No Surrender has become a favorite of mine. It is my ringtone. A classmate was killed in a military exercise and his family/friends used No Surrender as the music on the memorial website. Brett was a HUGE Boss fan.

We made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

I teared up when that was played. It was like Brett was there in spirit.

Lily was so sick last night. she threw up white foam 3 times while my sister was still at work. I don't know cats too well but she just didn't look like herself. Plus she was laying on the dining room table. she knows there's fan above her there so she does that when she's hot. I put the fan on and she just sat there with such a sad look. My sister called the vet and they said to watch her through the night to see how she is before bringing her in. We bought her new treats the other night and I guess she threw up a few days ago. I gave her some when I came home yesterday so..........no more new treats for her :tsk: She scarfed down her food last night but was still really clingy with us and only wanted to sit. But now she's back to her old tricks of climbing all over my stuff  so she must be feeling a lot better. Plus she doesn't have a weird look to her anymore. That was so scary the 1st time she threw up. I've never seen a cat do that

:yikes: ^
We are going to get snow on the second day of Spring (Friday)
:yippie: not so much.
It was so nice here today..............Mother Nature is a tease :grumpy:

I just raided a total strangers Snapfish album from the Bruuuce concert :shifty:
She was in the Pit and got some good shots , therefore, I had to order them............hee hee :)

 my sister's boyfriend has 2 boys with his ex wife. They've lived in another state for a few years so he hasn't seen them too often. Well now she's moved back to AZ, about an hour from us. He just went to pick them up and now there is a 7 year old and 5 year old screaming and running around the living room on my day off! :madwife: I didn't think they would get here this early. I guess the boys are here thru Sunday

The dog is walking around with her tail down. Her little bed and piggy are in the living room and I think she's afraid to go in there. I have no clue where the poor cat is. She's probably so pissed off right now that her peaceful afternoon was just interupted by 2 very loud little boys and is now hiding in her room.......:shifty:

 one of them appears to have some sort of barking cough. :scream:

:help:

It hasn't stopped raining in 2 days.....I think it's time to build an ark.

The sun FINALLY came out here after we began constructing our own arc (properly insured, of course) so hopefully you will be getting some in the the near future, too.

Sun, I mean. Not arcs. :shifty:

Shari, I'm sorry it took me so long to post in your birthday thread but I had this fabulous little stomach bug from which I am only fully recovered today. Happy belated! :D

I think that's the 1 thing I'm really going to miss in the coming months is spring rain. I loooooooove a good rain this time of year and watching everything turn green. I'm living out a lifelong dream of moving to the desert but after a month, I'm kind of tired of it. I can't give up just yet and go home but I know I'm too much of a Minnesota girl to be gone long. The only problem is I'm going to miss my favorite time of year in the Twin Cities and then by the time I come home it'll be were I left off. I feel like I'm cheating myself by missing spring. It's summer where I am and it's only going to get warmer. I also can't give up and go home until I have a chance to travel around a little. I'm going somewhere next weekend but not sure if it'll be to Joshua Tree or to Sedona. I'd like to see Sedona since I've never been there and I've been to JT a few times. Depends on what my sister wants to do I guess. Once I see the Grand Canyon then I can go home. I miss having friends around........

 Lily would murder us all if we tried to do that to her :tsk: She can be such a meanie.

Yeah, I can't see Worf tolerating something like that either. I finally found some treats that I can hide her pills in and I feel like I've discovered the greatest friggin' invention ever . Huzzah, no more bitey, hissing, struggling cat when it's medicine time!

Sorry about your stomach bug Schmeg, I'm glad you're feeling better know .

the 5 year old is having a tantrum right now. he wants his mommy. My sister's boyfriend has been up for over 24 hours and is not comforting him at all. He worked 6 pm to 6 am at the hospital and then came home to change before he had to drive to pick up the kids. So...........now the 5 year old wants his mommy and the 7 year old does too but he's not going to cry like the 5 year old, so he says. :scream:

the 7 year old talked to his mommy and nana while the 5 year old cried. He never did talk to her but just the fact that the 7 year old spoke to her has made them both very happy and LOUD. :yikes: Now they are chasing the poor dog around. She's already had a tough life and is scared of everything around her. The boys are going to scare her to death if they're not careful.

arw, about the boyfriend having kids and :yikes: about the tantrum. Poor Roxy :(

schmeg ~ sorry about the stomach bug ~ yuck. Glad you are feeling better. N missed the Bruuce concert because of a nasty stomach bug. Thanks for the bday wishes :)

Spring lasted part of a day.
We are back to Winter :(. Snowstorm :sigh: 9-14" coming with blowing and drifting. I am off today, though, so that is the nice part.

Some skating babble...

This girl I know who I don't really like is on the current National Synchronized Skating Champion team. Every single frickin' picture of the Haydenettes anywhere on the internet and in Skating magazine has this girl in it, whether it's the whole team or just a portion of it. She's now on the usfigureskating.org banner for the next year.

SERIOUSLY. STOP IT, US FIGURE SKATING.

http://www.usfigureskating.org/Programs.asp

EVEN IN A PICTURE OF ONE OF THE HAYDENETTES, SHE IS THE ONE HAYDENETTE.

Are you sure that she hasn't been cloned and that she isn't the only Haydenette?
*overkill*
I wonder how the others (if there are others ~back to the cloning reference) feel about the constant singling out.

 Doozer

14" of snow and the weather channel is saying we could have up to a total of 18" by tomorrow morning. Jim Cantore :madwife:
That freakin' snow was heavy and if you didn't get it all in the first pass, it froze solid...........nothing like shoveling ice blocks *ouchmyachingback*

I am calling UNCLE! I am done with snow this year. Advil and a heating pad are calling my name.

The Springsteen forum has a topic regarding the recording of my show.............one person says no and another says yes and it is a good one and look for it in a week or so.

The airport re-opened an hour ago. I should be able to catch a flight sometime in June at the rate of catching up they have to do.
