I just stumbled across the song "The Tower" by Vienna Teng, and it is just one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard...I think I've quickly become obsessed with it. I've never heard of Vienna Teng before...is anybody here a fan of hers?

I transcribed the lyrics the best I could, since I can't find them online anywhere...they may not be 100% accurate though:

~~~~~~
The one who survives by making new lives
Of others worthwhile
She?s coming apart
Right before my eyes
The one who depends on the services she renders
To those who come knocking
She seemed too clearly what she can?t be
What understanding defies
She says, I need not to need
Or else a love with intuition
Someone who reaches out to my weakness
And won?t let get
I need not to need
I?ve always been the tower
But now I feel like I?m the flower
Trying to bloom in snow
She turns off her light, anticipating nightfall
Tenderly around her
And watches the dusk
The words won?t come
She carries she the ax so convincingly the fact is
Sometimes she believes it
And she can be happy the way things are
Be happy with the things she?s done
And yet I need not to need
Or else a love with intuition
Someone who reaches out to my weakness
And won?t let get
I need not to need
I?ve always been the tower
But now I feel like I?m the flower
Trying to bloom in snow
Reach out
Hold back
Where is safety?
Reach out
And hold back
Where is the one who can change me?
Where is the one?
The one
Reach out
Hold back
Where is safety?
Reach out
And hold back
Where is the one who can save me?
Where is the one?
The one
I need not to need
Or else a love with intuition
Someone who reaches out to my weakness
And won?t let get
I need not to need
I?ve always been the tower
But now I feel like I?m the flower
Trying to bloom in snow
I feel like I?m the flower
Trying to bloom in snow
The danger and the power
The friend and the foe
I don't know if anybody is familiar with Paste magazine...it's fairly new. I bought their 3rd issue sometime last month, and it came with a CD (every issue comes with a CD). That song is on it. There's actually lots of good stuff on it, but this song just really struck me.
Dangit, this is good stuff. Why do there have to be so many good music acts, and why do I keep on having to come actoss more and more?
Is that all you have to say about her??
*smacks you upside the head* :p
Okey, the piano in the first part of "The Tower" and is nice.
I don?t really like the arrangements, though. The lyrics are fine, but I would have arranged it different.
What a name, really. The next band will be called Miami Beach. :scratch:
