Sadly I know many who have tried.

The producers of Star Wars originally wanted to make it a children's breakfast show, so sure were they it wouldn't work.

Okay, this definitely isn't true. I think there were barely 2000 male citizens by the end of the Peloponessian Wars, and a lot of serfs had either died in battle or been freed. There would have hardly been 500,000 people in Greece at the time, let alone a town like Sparta!

^wheels in general would be of little use in dense jungle.
 
Just saying that they were capable of understanding the idea, and never bothered with it - not that they were ignorant.

There was more than just dense jungle in the Inca territory, too.
 
Aye aye a few mountains would probably make it hell to try and wheel something up them.
