You know Axver if you end up doing the blog and taking pictures of historic places you might get your own show. What would music would you score the episodes with?

Definitely. For about the past month, I've wanted to put together a horror film style soundtrack very much akin to The Shining's. And, when I was younger, I made a disc filled with covers and interesting instrumental pieces and soundscapes.

I was always a big fan of Dennis Kucinich. My views seemed to be very close to his. He was never a viable candidate for the nomination, of course, but I do wish he could at least be a viable running mate.
You know, I actually was too for a time. He's an idea man, definitely. Problem is, I'm not sure just how realistic many of those ideas really were.

Cool. Maybe that is something you can do once you get your show going. I bet tons of shows would pay for original songs.

That they would. Have you noticed how much theme songs suck nowadays? I have heard a memorable new one in about 5 years.

Now there's a nice pipedream!

Historical documentaries of some sort would be sweet.

For the Otago Peninsula and Catlins region at the southeastern end of the South Island, I would feel morally obliged to use Pink Frost by The Chills. I'd have to emphasise Kiwi music in general. It has the atmosphere of the place. Hey, Spinner! by the Able Tasmans would be perfect for small town stuff.

Though I would also be bloody tempted to use In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion by Agalloch. It makes me think of the wild West Coast region:

Here at the edge of this world
Here I gaze at a pantheon of oak
A citadel of stone
If this grand panorama before me
Is what you call God
Then God is not dead

I think the entire song has great lyrics, really.

And you talk about Obama being too liberal for you ...

But yeah, that's the problem. Kucinich could never get half of that stuff through Congress. So he wouldn't be too effective as President, but as VP - perhaps it might give him influence and profile, if nothing else. Shame that won't happen.

It led to all kinds of excited posting of pictures of this train with its pants down. Good times.

And Ron Paul is so right wing that he's insane. I can find positives in both him and Kucinich, however. Ron Paul would be a terrible VP though. I can tell you that much.

What railfan forum do you go to? This one? http://forums.railfan.net/

I'm surprised there are this many of them.
