I loved this movie...but I have to see it again asap.
Our theatre is so old the lower section of the screen was fuzzy and the sound is not the best there. I missed some key bits of dialogue....well I missed some, they are all key to me. i want to hear it all, well next time. It was opening day too and soooooooo crowded and late starting and...well I'll stop complaining. I loved the movie
it.
I'll just have to see it again.
There was an article in the paper the next day saying the whole inside of the old theatre I go to will be renovated with 2 smaller theatres and a live performance space... the sound has to be better than it is now, please.
It was quiet a beautiful room really. I'll miss the old decor, plaster moulding and strange old lights and velvet seats and the balcony. It will all different I guess, they may try to retain some of the style. It used to seat 1000, but was rarely full.
I saw Tommy Emmanuel live there...brilliant, performance and sound. I hope they get the acoustics right on the new stage.it sounds great now.
I once accompanied a group of school kids there in the afternoon to see Russian cossack dancers. wooohooo. But I remember, as the sunlight poured in from the side door, you could see the dust coming up from the floor as they danced.. It is an old place. Seeing The Two Towers there left something to be desired, I'm sorry to say.
Teh theatre is adjacent to the pub that burnt down last year( you know 2002) My hub lost his regular booking there, bummer. They demolished it finally a couple of weeks ago and shall start construction on the new hotel soon. I hope they make it comfortable and with good sound. My son suggested they have a good beer garden,so the band can play outdoors sometimes. But no chance, no space for it and parking. So big changes for that little part of my world.
I like the movies
Back to Tolkien. I can't wait to see it again.I remember hub put up a background of Gandalf and a chestnut horse when it was 6 months to go , to see the The Two Towers. You may have seen this, but look what he put up a few days ago
