Truman Capote and Armistead Maupin

I haven't read any of their books and was wondering if they worth it.

I know A. Maupin mainly wrote collections, I'd like to know if it's necessary to follow the order of the episodes or not.

Any suggestions?

I've never read Maupin, but I've loved what I've read of Capote. His short stories are ace, and In Cold Blood is a must-read.

Oh, I didn't really like Summer Crossing, which was either his first novel, or it had been left unfinished and was published posthumously ... ? Something like that. I didn't care for that one.

Thanks

There are several books in the series by Maupin, and at least one stand alone novel -- I think, it's been years since I read them. If you're going to read more than one of the books in the series, you should read them in order. As I recall, the first one is one of the best ones.
