yesterday, Sgt. Troy Grant the local policeman at Tenterfield broke the Guiness Book of Records, most rounds of golf played in a week. He was raising money for a local 12 year old boy who was paralysed when he fell off his BMX bike. They want to modify the boys home for when he returns from hospital.
Troy played 1800 holes, playing for 20 hours per day for 7 days. He hit the ball an average of 72 kilometres a day.
Now to me that is a sports hero, just quietly achieving in something he enjoys.
He said the tendons in his left hand are sore and he has bruised knuckles, but as he is the Sergeant up there and he does the rosters, he gave himself a couple of days off...and then he'll be back for the Charity Golf Day on the weekend.
What an effort!
