Top Five Favourite Bands

I know, I'm sure there have been a zillion of these threads, but one more couldn't hurt could it? I've always thought U2 fans had fairly diverse tastes in music. A lot of fans of other bands tend to stick within one mini-genre, i.e. punk, heavy metal, reggae, ect... I like to think that U2 fans reach out a bit more. To see if this is true or not, post your five favourite bands (not including U2). Mine, in no paticular order:

-Interpol
-The Beatles
-The Velvet Underground
-Tool
-Nirvana

Excluding U2,

(1) The Stone Roses
(2) The Jam
(3) Suede
(4) Van Halen
(5) Echo and the Bunnymen

Honorable mentions to REM, Manic Street Preachers, Jesus and Mary Chain and New Order.

Recently though I've been listening to singer songwriters (Dylan, Neil Young) more than bands.
