Top Films of the Decade: The 2000s - Voting Thread

Hey all, this was being tossed around in the Top 50 Films thread for a bit and it sounds like it would make another fun contest, so what the hell, let's do it. This time around, it's of the Top Films of The Decade in decade increments (as you can tell, we'll be starting backwards with The 2000s). You'll submit your Top 15 picks of what in your opinion were the BEST movies of said decade, instead of strictly favorites. You're more than welcome to revise your list as many times as you want as long as you tell me which one you want me to count; you can also put more than 15 movies on your list, I'll only count the Top 15. The films will be assigned a point value according to their placement on the list (15 points for #1, 14 points for #2, etc...). Films also get credit for being on multiple lists, I'm not sure how to figure that into the ratings though, that'll come later, I guess.

The main purpose of this thread is to provoke discussion about these films and each others' tastes... and most importantly for fun.

Please submit your list in the format provided below, it makes compiling and adding up votes 100x easier, trust me. No awkward spaces or reverse order lists, please. I cannot stress this enough.

1. Children of Men
2. The Man Who Wasn’t There
3. Lost in Translation
4. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
5. Almost Famous
6. The 40-Year-Old Virgin
7. Batman Begins
8. Sin City
9. Spider-Man 2
10. The Royal Tenenbaums
11. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
12. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
13. Shaun of the Dead
14. Grindhouse
15. The Prestige

(Honorable Mentions: A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, Big Fish, V for Vendetta)

Also, voting ends October 5th, 11:59 PM EST, so please submit your lists by that time. Hopefully this will be more successful than the last contest.

Thanks for setting this up. Picking what I think have been the best films of this decade is going to a tough one though. I don't have a problem with it, it'll just take a bit more time than favourites

But yes, should be fun

I can't possibly come up with 15 at one time but I can throw in a couple as I think of them if that wouldn't be too annoying (and from your instructions, I'm guessing it might be). So someone should add The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Lives of Others (the best movie I saw this year) to their nicely organized list.

Maybe you could put them in a Word doc and come back to them later, then submit. Would that help?

I haven't seen 15 films this decade, but I hope someone includes 24 Hour Party People. That was golden.

Are you not that big into watching lots of movies or current ones? I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but less than 15 movies in 7 years is a little paltry.
