Has anyone ever attended a major festival, like Cannes, New York, Sundance, Toronto, SxSW, or Venice?

I really want to hit SxSw or Toronto someday.

The London film festival is kicking off here in the UK soon (or maybe even now) but like all the other UK fests it's over 100 miles away from I live and I'm not that bothered lol.

Would have been cool to attend one of the Death Proof screenings we had with a live Q&A with Tarantino and Zoe Bell a little while back though.

We're not going to have much of a consensus with the number of ballots we've had, huh?

Maybe compile a top 15 list from those and then do one of those survivor things. It's a lot easier for people just to vote.

Then you'd have a final Top 10 by process of elimination.

That sounds good, but I can't create polls. If a premium wants to step in and do that, that would be great.

Are you not that big into watching lots of movies or current ones? I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but less than 15 movies in 7 years is a little paltry.

Just don't like watching movies that much. It means I have to sit in the same spot for 2 hours, which is a tough ask for me. Wish I could watch more, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Glad you guys submitted your lists, hopefully there will be a few more before 12 tonight.

Wish there was a bigger turn-out though, hopefully there will be for the '90s one.

I know the deadline is coming up, so I'll ass out a list.

How does one see a list from which to choose?
Here is my seriously half-assed list just to be counted.

15. The Mothman Prophecies (yeah I liked it too, fuck off)
14. Minority Report
13. 28 Days Later
12. Syriana
11. Mystic River
10. Donnie Darko
9. Shaun of the Dead
8. 300
7. Batman Begins
6. In America
5. Memento
4. Requiem for a Dream
3. Solaris
2. Munich
1. A.I.

I guess I haven't seen a lot of movies in the last 7 years, so my list is skewed differently. And rather late, so I guess it's just for shits & giggles...

1. Gladiator
2. Almost Famous
3. 40 Year Old Virgin
4. Lost In Translation
5. Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King
6. Chocolat
7. Moulin Rouge
8. Casino Royale
9. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
10. Brokeback Mountain
11. Ocean's Eleven
12. Frequency
13. Bourne Ultimatum
14. Batman Begins
15. Finding Neverland

Honorable mentions: Mystic River, Good Night & Good Luck, Little Miss Sunshine, Pirates Of The Carribean (1st one), Bruce Almighty, Shrek, Billy Elliot, The Departed, Thank You For Not Smoking, Inside Man, Across The Universe (yes, I liked it :madspit: )

My revised list:

1. 2046
2. Punch-Drunk Love
3. Spirited Away
4. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
5. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
6. Lost In Translation
7. Children of Men
8. Brokeback Mountain
9. The Royal Tennenbaums
10. 3-Iron
11. Little Miss Sunshine
12. Memento
13. Road To Perdition
14. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
15. V For Vendetta

I couldn't decide whether or not I should put 2046 at the #1 or #2 position. I figured, both are at least equally well made films, but 2046 made me feel things I've never ever felt before, let alone during a movie, so I had to give it top honors.

Also replaced Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring with 3-Iron, and added Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which deserves a spot simply for being one of the most wholly entertaining... anythings ever.

Interesting observation: 7 of my top 10 films for this decade are now romances. :hmm:
