One song per artist, leaks count as well.

Here's mine:

1. LCD Soundsystem - "Someone Great"
2. Arcade Fire - "No Cars Go"
3. Lily Allen - "LDN"
4. The Shins - "Sea Legs"
5. Wilco - "Walkin'"

1. LCD Soundsystem - "All My Friends"
2. Arcade Fire - "My Body is a Cage"
3. Modest Mouse - "Parting Of The Sensory"
4. Wilco - "Hate It Here"
5. Bright Eyes - "If The Brakeman Turns My Way"

Awesome thread. And I must say "All My Friends" is one of the best songs I've heard in YEARS. :combust:

It's a good one.

"I wouldn't trade one stupid decision for another 5 years of lies"

:combust:

In no order:

Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (this will be their anthem 5-10 years from now)

The Shins - Sleeping Lessons (listen to this bad boy on high-fidelity headphones and be amazed)

Bright Eyes - Tourist Trap (the closest Oberst's gotten to emulating Dylan)

Explosion in the Sky - The Birth and Death of the Day (fucking amazing.)

The Good, the Bad, and the Queen - '80s Life (I marvel in its simplicity)

I can't wait for the rest of this year

1. My Body Is A Cage

2. A Soldier's Tale - The Good The Bad And The Queen

3. I Still Remember - Block Party

4. Gravity's Rainbow - Klaxons

5. LCDSoundsystem - "All My Friends"

I would like to agree (as its one of my all-time favorite songs), but the tune came out in 2003.

Explosion in the Sky - The Birth and Death of the Day (fucking amazing.)

No arguments there.

My list:

5. Menomena- Wet and Rusting (great incorporation of xylophone, piano, and rhythmic acoustic guitar... not to mention the fantastic, building percussion)

4. Eluvium- Prelude for Time Feelers (great neo-classical post-rockery... they're currently touring with Explosions in the Sky)

3. Tiga- Louder than a Bomb (fun, synthtronic Public Enemy Cover)

2. Apostle of Hustle- National Anthem of Nowhere (the best guitarist of Broken Social Scene continues the great grooves from Folkloric Feel with this track)

AND the best of the year so far...

1. Andrew Bird- Heretics (just listen)

It's just April, guys! I don't have 5 songs to list if it has to be different artists. For now I'll say one of these...

Keep The Car Running
Intervention
No Cars Go

- Arcade Fire

Wilco - Impossible Germany
Cocorosie - Rainbowarriors
Blonde Redhead - The Dress
Menomena - Rotten Hell
Ted Leo/Pharmacists - The Lost Brigade

Yeah, I'm going to have to check the LCD Soundsystem, too.

I need to give that Andrew Bird CD another good listen as well.

2007 is already such a great year in music and it's not even half over yet.

Impossible Germany is my current pick for song of the year. it's amazing

I'd say No Cars Go but it was only rerecorded, so from Neon Bible I'd probably go with Windowsill.

In Transit (aka 409) is worthy as well. very nice song.

and then there's Bloc Party. Hard to pick just one from A Weekend in the City, but I'll say Uniform. So epic!

did the Tokyo Police Club EP come out this year? Nature of the Experiment and Citizens of Tomorrow are both

Choosing to leave off any Mute Math songs because it just wouldn't be fair, I submit to you the following:
1. "Berlin" by BRMC
2. "No Cars Go" by Arcade Fire (even though it's really old, right?)
2. "Impossible Germany" by Wilco
3. "Young Folks" by Peter, Bjorn and John
4. "Eyes" by Rogue Wave (I'm not sure when it came out, but my sister just put it on her myspace page and I can't get it out of my head. I'm assuming it's new. It's new to me at least.)
5. "Lazy Eye" by Silversun Pickups (It reminds me of the Breeders. )

1. The Arcade Fire - My Body Is A Cage
2. The Arcade Fire - No Cars Go
3. Bloc Party - Hunting For Witches
4. Bloc Party - Waiting For The 7:18
5. Modest Mouse - Dashboard

Yeah, I only have three albums from 2007. I don't care much for the music that's being made these days.

you probably just aren't hearing the good stuff ;)

Blackfield: Epidemic (or Christenings, which is just as good)
Dominici: The Monster
Neal Morse: The Door
Porcupine Tree: Fear Of A Blank Planet
Pure Reason Revolution: Victorious Cupid

1. TV on the Radio - Wolf Like Me (I don't care if it's from 2006, it's just too good to leave it out :) ) I would love to also put here The Decemberists and Crane Wife 1&2 but I don't want to overdo it :)
2. LCD Soundsystem - Get Innocuous - I love it how they introduce the song like it's natural follow-up from the last Lp, but than quickly change gears into totaly diferen beat
3. The Shins - Sea Legs
4. Modest Mouse - March Into The Sea
5. Panda bear - Take Pills / The Filed - Over The Ice

Arcade Fire - No Cars Go is great but I'm a bit dissapointed with the album

can't wait for complete Wilco, National, Cut Copy, Spoon and INTERPOL!!!! It will be a great year

  1. Tube Circus - The Wailing of the Doves
  2. Roc Convention - Wake It Up
  3. USB Thumbdrive - Don't Fling Me Up
  4. Your Mother's A Whore - Words
  5. The Bank Machines - We're Not an Indie Band

I love you.

Well I'm quite fond of you too :)
I'm happy that there is someone who knows who they are, it's rare here at interference. Here it's mostly indie and rock lovers, no electronic...

Even though No Cars Go is a couple of years old, it qualifies since it's on a new album (she declares.)

Here's mine.

1. Ruby -- Kaiser Chiefs.
2. Stacie Anne -- Fratellis
3. That's What She Said -- The Automatic (I realize this came out last year in England but I only was able to find a copy in the States recently)
4. No Cars Go -- Arcade Fire
5. Black Wave -- The Shins

And She Would Darken The Memory Of Youth - The Twilight Sad
Spitting Venom - Modest Mouse
She's Slipping Away - The Stranglers
(AntiChrist Television Blues) - The Arcade Fire
Last Summer, At Home I Had Become The Invisible Boy
- The Twilight Sad

I Still Remember is a good song, but I would say Waiting For The 7.18 is better, IMO, and I would probably nominate that one from A Weekend In The City.

I just listened to the whole album with attention, and I think you're right:wink: Let's say my three favourites so far are I Still Remember, Waiting For the 7.18 and Sunday.
