Top 5 Frontmen of all Time

I was trying to figure out my list in my head this morning and had quite some difficulty. So now I'll use this board as an excuse to put it into text. Here's my list.

1. Bono
2. Freddy Mercury
3. Micheal Hutchence
4. David Byrne
5. Micheal Stipe

Not the 'best', perhaps, but my favourites from growing up:

1. Dennis Bergkamp
2. Robbie Fowler
3. Alan Shearer
4. Thierry Henry
5. Davor Suker

Honourable mention: Marcus Stewart. Ah, the days.

jimmy g (murphy's law)
steven page/edge robertson (barenaked ladies)
mike mccolgan (street dogs, since i never saw him with dkm)
al barr (dropkick murphys/the bruisers)
andrew wk

i'd include springsteen, but i've never seen him with the e street band.

Umm good question.

Well, the only two really important ones I'd say would be:

1. Must actually be a frontman, so a member of a larger band. Meaning Elvis doesn't count. And the Beatles didn't really have a frontman, as Paul, John and George often traded lead vocal duties between them.

2. You wouldn't necessarily have to have seen him/her live, as it would be impossible for me to have seen Freddy Mercury, but I'd say the band should have a strong live or video performance presence. I feel a great frontman is as much a visual/pysical performer as he/she is a vocal/instrumental performer.

in no particular order - and no, i haven't seen most of these in person
bono
freddie mercury
robert plant
eddie vedder
mick jagger

my honorable mention is actually a dishonorable mention:
gg. allin - i mean, the guy ate his own feces and stuck his mic up his own ass. i can't think of a dude who worked harder to be the best!

Robert Plant and Eddie Veddar were both two guys that I wanted on my own list but couldn't quite fit.
