I am surprised that I saw 3 Madonna songs in these lists!!! The greatest surprises were "Deeper and deeper (a song that got out of the charts when discovered that was about facing with homossexuality) and "Swin" (the second track of Ray Of Light, and IMO is one of the best Madonna songs ever. It's a shame it was never played live).

I'll be forgetting other songs that probably I like more than some of these ones, but these are those I remember now. My list in no particular order:

Yahweh - U2
Oh Father - Madonna
One - U2
Earth Song - Michael Jackson
Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Oasis
Losing My Religion - REM
Heroes - David Bowie
Home - Depeche Mode
Amsterdam - Coldplay
Intervention - Madonna

excluded: Sacrifice - Elton John, So Like A Rose - Garbage, Where The Wild Roses Grow - Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue, Utopia - Alanis Morissette

Thats hard I have so many, other than U2 because they are in a class all by themselves.

Rosalita - Bruce Springsteen
Thunderoad - Bruce Springsteen
Freedom - George Michael
Bestfriend - Queen
I'm Free - Soup Dragons
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
Losing my Religion - REM

Until the End of the World
Running to Stand Still

Have you heard the Headcleanr Rock Remix? It's awesome

Okay my list, and as I've posted my top favourite U2 songs all over EYKIW, I'll limit my list to just one U2 song AND mix things up by making it my favourite U2 b-side:

Slow Dancing - U2
Bent - Matchbox Twenty
Do You Sleep? - Lisa Loeb
Midnight Show - The Killers
X-Static Process - Madonna
Anything For You - Evanescence
Within You Without You - The Beatles
Place For My Head - Linkin Park
It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Death Wish - My Chemical Romance
Talk Show Host - Radiohead

Not so sure about the order, but that's pretty close, also I limited it to one song per artist, and yes, I have fantastically bad taste in music sometimes

I  fav song lists. I'm always introduced to an artist I haven't paid much attention to, and end up enjoying their music.

As for mine...Hmm...this can change day to day:

Tennessee - Arrested Development
Running to stand still - U2
Crazy world - Aslan
Let your troubles roll by - Carbon Leaf
Come downstairs and say hello - Guster
All falls down - Kanye West
Bron y Aur Stomp - Led Zeppelin
If I ruled the world - Nas
Somebody to love - Queen
Get by - Talib Kweli

Tried REALLY hard to not repeat the artists.

Pretty much my universal top 10. Only changes comes when a new song will bump an older one down the list. BD bumped streets screwing up a top 4 that had previously stayed constant for 10 years.

1. I'll Be You - The Replacements
2. With Or Without You - U2
3. Beautiful Day - U2
4. Streets - U2
5. Achin' To Be - The Replacements
6. Velocity - Face To Face
7. In My Place - Coldplay
8. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man - Prince
9. Another Second Time Around - Goo Goo Dolls
10. Drown - Son Volt
