I've heard those "gay rumors" for years. Apparently that's also why John Travolta turned to Scientology too.

I thought Travolta got introduced to Scientology by his first love, that older woman actress who died from cancer? And of course his good friend Kirstie Alley.

Ok good Im not the only one who was sickened by the idea of eating placenta. He also stated that he was going to eat the cord too. Wonder if the men in white coats will be standing there waiting to escort him away :hmm:

didn't women used to eat the placenta for the iron due to blood loss during delivery??

I mean it's gross but animals do it and I think people used to as well. Don't understand any purpose for a man to do it.

well, obviously i don't know, but it has been a rumor for years and years and years, and sadly, most of the rumor has been founded upon stereotypes.

but, my undestanding, is that he is gay, but deeply closeted, and that he was initially attracted to Scientology to help "cure" him of it -- let's not forget, he was originally going to be a priest.

he also gets accused, very frequently, of having affairs with various gay porn stars, and then turns around and slaps them with $100m lawsuits, which is understandable, since if he were to be outed it might to much to lessen his credibility in a heterosexual romantic comedy or as an action star (silly as that is).

i have also heard rumors, adn these are to be noted as rumors, but that he has assistants who will troll through clubs and bars looking for guys who would look good to Tom, and then getting them to come back to his house or hotel for sex. also, and this is a friend of a friend, but had heard that one of the reasons that his first wife, Mimi Rogers, left him was because she was "tired of all the lies" or something to that effect -- that he was a rather typical guy on "the down-low" who lived a double life.

none of this is at all out-of-the ordinary for a weathy man who must maintain an appearance of heterosexuality while being secretly homosexual.

more Rumors:

his children are adopted (though the rumor was that Nicole didn't want to be pregnant, but the fact remains that he didn't sire them)

he was very uncomfortable with the graphic sex scenes in "Eyes Wide Shut."

i think "Eyes Wide Shut" is a fascinating movie, and there's more than one example of Cruise's character being hinted at as gay, he gets hit on by the hotel clerk, a group of drunk guys pushes him and calls him faggot -- yes, this is art, but the filming of the movie was so long, such an ordeal, and he and Nicole supposedly bonded to such an extent with Kubrick, that it seems to me as if the movie is actually about "Tom and Nicole" -- but that's all theory

finally, he seems so incredibly uncomfortable talking about his "love" for any of his women, especially Katie -- they both fall back on meaningless cliches, as if they're writing a late-80s power ballad by Firehouse ("i've finally found the love of a lifetime / a love to last my whole life through").

so do we know know that he's gay?

no. and, ultimately, you have to take people at their word.

do i personally suspect he's gay?

yes.

oh, and my favorite rumor was Tom Cruise + Rob Thomas.

:lmao:

Yeah...he is gay and everyone in entertainment pr knows it but no one says anything because he's a power house. One of the reasons that Pat Kingsley (Cruise's first publicist and the guru of all entertainment publicists) was such a brilliant rep is because both she and Tom literally invented each other as they went along. By doing so, you can nurture a campaign's image, or in this case a person's image any way you want and the media will eat it up. Hence the '80s image we all have of Tom Cruise is not the same crazy image we have today. Nowadays, nurturing a campaign's image or a person's image is not that simple. With the rise of the internet, blogs, and the media realizing that they can shape an image without the help of a sell sheet, the tables have turned. Alas, Paul Bloch (his current publicist) has his work cut out for him. Selling Tom Cruise is no longer just a phone call away; it's a phone call and a crisis management handbook away.

John Travolta is also gay or so the back story (pun intended) rumors go. There are endless reports of young boys who pay him visits in his trailer during filming. Of course all of this is low key but nonetheless the "gay rumors" surround Travolta as much as they surround Cruise only the latter is more talked about because it's hard *not* to talk about him; he's everywhere.

Scientology, or rather Dianetics, is allegedly very good at curing mental disorders and dyslexia and homosexuality both fall under the mental illness umbrella according to the religion.

Of course this could all be coincidental.

while i'm not all that sympathetic to Tom since he's gone Kerazy for CoCo Puffs, i do think it's terribly sad that mainstream society can't accept -- or at least the powers-that-be in Hollywood believe they won't accept -- an openly gay actor playing a straight role, either in a romantic comedy or a mindless action movie -- as if gay people haven't had to play straight roles their entire lives. (poor Kevin Spacey)

it's called acting -- why does this characteristic trump all others? it's not brave of a straight actor to play gay, since it certainly isn't brave of a gay actor to play straight. but it is cowardly for a straight actor to refuse to play gay, and vice versa.

but that's just me on my high horse.

i wonder what the baby will look like?

my guess:

:lmao:

I think I'd have more respect for these people if they weren't "acting" in the private lives. Just be who you are, whether you are gay or straight or whatever. That's just my opinion...

and they wear pieces too? JT looks like he has a buzz cut and so where would there be a wig? (Maybe for roles, I don't know). I don't think he's a very good actor. Maybe in less dramatic roles he gets by, but

I've heard that that wasn't a rumor. :shifty: I mean I've just heard this through the grapevine and I'm not saying it's 100% true or anything. My uncle's friend owns a very popular celeb-spot restaurant in NY where celebs always eat, managers, directors, etc. Anyway, someone told him that Tom and Rob WERE "seeing" each other, or whatever. And that's apparently why Rob's wife left him because she caught them in bed, and that's why Tom got with Katie.

SIZZLER: Tom's Poll is Bent
According to the New York Post, Tom Cruise's people skewed the results of a recent poll on Parade.com in his favor.

"Parade.com recently asked online readers whether they thought Cruise was responsible for his disastrous public relations year or if it was the media's fault. A shocking 84 percent of respondents blamed the press. But Parade publicist Alexis Collado tells us: "We at Parade found this a little bit fishy, so we did some investigating. We found out more than 14,000 (of the 18,000-plus votes) that came in were cast from only 10 computers!" pole

Now the magazine thinks Tom's people built a computer program that skewed the votes, and we feel really bad about that. We were only trying to help the poor guy who's been a victim of the vicious media . We won't do it again.

I have heard that she can't have children--I remember some tabloid hassled her at a hospital once where it turned out she was undergoing some kind of surgery or treatment. It was right around the time he sued the magazine who said he was infertile--apparently it was ok for them to reveal his wife was!!

The fact that she miscarried around the time of their divorce would seem to confirm that.

But I still suspect he is gay and obviously he hoped to prove otherwise by proving he could father a child of his own...

And here I always thought he left Nicole for Penelope Cruz--remember that? Did she flee in terror or what?? Why was that so low key? It's like he's been taken over by an alien.

he was with Cruz for a couple of years I think... then she moved on to McConaghey (sp), and the rumor is they are possibly kaput now

No way! I just saw McConaghey on a talk show and he was talking about how happy he and Cruz are. Wow hard to keep up with these celebrity relationships, isn't it? :giggle:

The People magazine website has a breaking story that the TomKitten HAS been born, but no other details are available.

It hasn't hit the media yet, I'm watching Extra and the Insider :slant:

Oh wait!! He's to busy eating the placenta to notify the press

I just found this on Eonline.com:

TOMKITTEN ARRIVES! Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcoming their first child together, a baby girl named Suri, on Tuesday, E! Entertainment has confirmed. The baby weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces; both mother and daughter were said to be doing well.

but was there screaming? Was daughter taken to the secret Scientology volcano layer? :hmm: Was Tom in the closet the whole time? :lmao:

from people:

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have welcomed their first child together, two inside sources told PEOPLE.

The couple "joyously welcomed the arrival of a baby girl, Suri, today," the actor's rep said in a statement after PEOPLE first broke the news. "The child weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches in length. Both mother and daughter are doing well."

The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew meaning "princess," or in Persian meaning "red rose," the rep added.

In late October, barely six months into their romance, an ecstatic Cruise and Holmes revealed that they were expectant parents.

Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, had made no secret of their desire to start a family together: When asked by PEOPLE last June if they were planning to have children, Holmes smiled and said simply, "Yes."

The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew, meaning "princess," or in Persian, meaning "red rose," the statement said.

The baby was born in Los Angeles but Robinson did not disclose the exact location.

It's the first child for Holmes, 27. Cruise, 43, has an adopted daughter and an adopted son from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Details surrounding the birth, which was planned under the tenets of the Church of Scientology as a silent procedure, weren't disclosed. :shifty:

ETA: You beat me by a minute! :grumpy:
