Tom Waits - Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards

Anyone else really amped about this box set? It's looking like I'm going to have some difficulty getting it as soon as I'd like. Normally my local record store gets things in early and sells them, but it got shipped to another store and has to be sent there over the next few days. I downloaded Waits' version of "Down There By the Train," which had previously only seen release by Johnny Cash on the first American Recordings album. I love the concept of breaking the discs into rockers, ballads, and crazy stuff... I love Tom Waits, and for me, THIS is the purchase of the season. Definitely over the mediocre compliations my two favorite bands are releasing tomorrow.

Not so much. I have Closing Time, Rain Dogs, Used Songs: The Best of 1972-1980 (or whatever the years are), Beautiful Malladies: The Best of the Island Years, Mule Variations, Alice, Blood Money, and Real Gone.

I need to get a few more of the albums from the earlyand mid periods.

I bought Mule Variations for my bf last year. It takes some time getting used to Tom Wait's music.
