It wasn't the best performance, but at least they went with someone who actually has authentic talent instead of some prepackaged star.

Tom Petty is good stuff.

I liked it. A little sleepy at times, but not bad.

I saw Tom Petty in Jackson Hole, WY a few years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been too. He certainly didn't seem old and tired then. A great American musician.

Pretty sure I read in Rolling Stone that in '04-'05, he holed himself up in a shack in the woods and went through a ton of heroin.

That'll do the trick if you want to age yourself 20 years in a hurry.

So who should be the next halftime show?

Another classic rock act? A hip-hop act?

You're probably right. And if it did they'd put some joker like Lil' Wayne up there to "rap" about bitches and grillz.

Yes, but it sure wouldn't be boring.

Fantastic for me. Confusing for everyone else.

If it is a classic rock act, the most obvious one who hasn't done the Super Bowl yet is Springsteen, but I'm not sure if he's interested.

Led Zeppelin will be in fine form and touring again (probably getting ready to go out) next February.
