I'm still convinced that Billy Corgan in a vampire. One who makes great music, but a vampire nonetheless.

But in which style? A la REAL Pumpkins or a la other band Corgan formed after Pumpkins whose name I don't remember?

Zwan.

I hope they do Siamese Dream+Mellon Collie-esque Pumpkins stuff

no Machina :barf:

 That album was hard to digest.

that's crazy talk, i think machina was amazing...
nothing hard to digest about songs like 'stand inside your love', 'wound', 'try try try', 'i of the mourning', 'the imploding voice', 'age of innocence', 'THIS TIME', and 'the sacred and profane'....amazing pop songs.
some of the longer tunes meandered quite a bit, no doubt. but the songs above are among their best.
did i mention 'stand inside your love' and 'this time'!?

hard to digest?

it was like swallowing gum w/ razor blades inside.

I do like The Everlasting Gaze, Lucky 13, and The Age of Innocence

but other than that...:|

Adore was an interesting album though :hmm:

hey! Machina is a great album, I love that metal-like side of the Pumpkins

anyway... it would be a shame without Iha, but I'm waiting for this

I'm actually hoping for a mix between Adore and Machina. I freaking love "Raindrops + Sunshowers" off of Machina. Great song.

This thread sent me researching all the members websites, fansites, blogs, etc - sadly, it doesn't look good for getting Iha and Wretzky on board.

Any new Pumpkins material is to be considered fraudulent and approached with extreme caution.

:Sadness:

Adore has more spirit, while Machina (except for the great songs you mention, and maybe Stand Inside Your Love) sounds like the leftover bits of a band in serious decay. For example, I really can't stand Heavy Metal Machine, and the gloom is just a little too heavy on The Imploding Voice....those songs seem far from the original spark the Pumpkins had.

I guess I'm the only one who prefers the Mellon Collie, Adore and Machina I/II era. :hyper:

The Mellon Collie + Adore era produced some truly great material

1979
Tonight, Tonight
Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Perfect
Zero
The End is the Beginning is the End*
Appels + Oranjes
Eye*
Thirty-Three
My Blue Heaven*
among others...

* - b-side or soundtrack song.

Don't these two look alike?

:hmm: I smell a giant conspiracy bigger than all of us!

Through concentration, they can raise and lower their cholesterol at will.

Why would they want to do that you ask?

So they can lower it.
