I think the guy from Nickelback is worse than Sting...and everyone else ever, probably. I never really thought Sting was that bad. He did like Philosophy and Chaucer a bit too much for a rock star, in my opinion, but I never thought he was horrible.

Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential
I've got potential

Most of the people on the list are tools, and while many aren't untalented or "the worst", they're often pompous and self-important, like Sting, and are easy targets for ridicule. Or those who were talented and became caricatures of themselves, like Jim Morrison. Or those who are only held up as genius by a small minority of hardcore fans, like Neil Peart.

Honestly, the only name on this list I'd really take issue with is Robert Plant, who shouldn't be on here just because of a few Lord of the Rings-themed lyrics (it is hard to sit through Ramble On now without cringing though).

Oh yeah, Bernie Taupin has written his share of cliched lines, but I think he's brilliant and doesn't belong on here either.

I would certainly object to Peter Gabriel and Jim Morrison as well. "You know the day destroys the night, night divides the day."
Despite my love for Elton John, I believe that Taupin certainly deserves his place, even if only for Levon. "Jesus, he wants to go to Venus, leave Levon far behind." The brilliance of Elton has much to do with how well he mitigates Taupin's frequently inane lyrics.

You cut me down a tree
And brought it back to me
And that's what made me see
Where I was going wrong

You put me on a shelf
And kept me for yourself
I can only blame myself
You can only blame me

And I could write a song
A hundred miles long
Well that's where I belong
And you belong with me

That's a song?
