True - I was referring more to people in say, New York who travel to Philadelphia or Boston. The US East Coast has too much of that IMO and forces a lot of residents of the cities to use scalpers or not even be able to see U2.

You don't travel to see the band at all?

I did travel to another city to see U2 in addition to my own city, so I am guilty of it. Had premium tickets been priced at their true market value however, it may have discouraged me a bit. That's part of the reason I'm not traveling out of town to see Roger Waters again, and I feel it's fair. I don't think that U2 especially encourage this practice. The ellipse policy and similar setlists are examples of things that help discourage it, whether or not they were designed to do that.

Ellipse policy, maybe (though then why only in North America, not Europe?). Stale setlists is just because they're lazy.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
