This is so sad. This shouldnt have happened to a person who was doing what he loved to do.

RIP

Man, what can I say? So, so, sad. Unimaginably so. Yeah, two futures suddenly vastly different than they would have been. My sympathies go out to the families...and though it is his fault, also to Heatley, precisely because of that.

the worst part of all of this is that it could have been easily avoided... i never understand pro athletes who drive drunk. they make millions of dollars a year... get yourself a taxi, get yourself a limo, don't set foot in that car. sad sad day.

it has not been determined that Heatley was driving drunk.

you're right, and maybe he'll be shown to have not been drinking. but it's still sheer stupidity and recklessness and could have been avoided. very sad either way.

his funeral will be Friday in Canada. The team is going up to the funeral, Heatley wants to be there, however he has a court appearance at 10AM on Friday and is having surgery on Wed. so it is uncertain that he will be able to make it.

apparently they were roommates.
