So today I went to Mary Baldwin to hear Mary Robison (former president of Ireland, worked for UN Human Rights etc.) Anyway, one of the students asked her what motivated her socially and politically. She talked about her parents, and then moved through influences down the years, and then mentioned Nelson Mandela.
"He's a great man. He's also a terrible tease, just a big flirt."
That's not an exact quote, but I do remember her blushing and calling him a tease and a flirt. I still can't get over it. She also told one of the standard Bono jokes. (lovingly of course)
"What's the difference between God and Bono?"
"God doesn't think he's Bono."
