So today I went to Mary Baldwin to hear Mary Robison (former president of Ireland, worked for UN Human Rights etc.) Anyway, one of the students asked her what motivated her socially and politically. She talked about her parents, and then moved through influences down the years, and then mentioned Nelson Mandela.

"He's a great man. He's also a terrible tease, just a big flirt."

That's not an exact quote, but I do remember her blushing and calling him a tease and a flirt. I still can't get over it. She also told one of the standard Bono jokes. (lovingly of course)

"What's the difference between God and Bono?"

"God doesn't think he's Bono."

That's funny :) Actually Nelson Mandela has always seemed to me to be a little bit of a flirt

That must have been interesting to attend her speech, I've always wanted to

I saw her speak a couple years ago. Cool lady...great accent.

She must like Virginia since I saw her in Richmond...and you at Mary Baldwin...

I go to Bridgewater, it's 20 minutes away from Staunton (my hometown anyway). So I had good reason to be hearing her speak at a women's college.

Who, if I may ask? You can just PM me if you don't feel comfortable posting names and such on here, but it's always interesting to see if we both know somebody.
