I might be able to get an ibook for free from a family member...but the catch is that I would have to give them my pc laptop in exchange(what I'm typing on right now). I am torn.

What I need to know from anyone that has used both Windows XP and Mac OSX is:

1.Is the amount of software that I won't be able to use anymore on a Mac, worth the supposed superiority stability-wise of the Mac OSX?

2.Does Virtual PC really work? For those that don't know, Virtual PC is a program made by Microsoft that emulates a PC on Mac OS, and allows Mac users to use Windows operating systems and applications. I just don't know if games(like NBA Live 2005/2006) will work properly/smoothly on it.

Any information and input from anyone that has made this switch or that has used both WinXP and OSX would be greatly appreciated.

If gaming is important to you, you may want to stick with the PC. I have an iBook, and I love it, but I'm not a gamer.

The stability of Mac OSX is a huge bonus though. There are just tons of little things that make an iBook more convenient for me.

This probably doesn't help much, but I'm not familiar with PC emulators.
