Radio - who?

Sigur and what?

Theory of a Dead Man have arrived and ca - ching! Thats the sound of angst ridden teenagers spending 25 dollars on a cd loaded with guitar driven anthems, not uncomparable to supergroups such as U2 and REM.

On their self titled debut album, these rockers bring the juice not unlike their campanions and soul mates, nickelback and default.

brought to the mainstream by the beastmaster that is chad krueger, theory of a deadman have provided audiences in north america with a sense of dread whenever one reaches for the radio dial.

as nickelback and default go, so does TOAD. with all three commonly referred to as "art-rockers", toad has exploded on the scene by dishing out the most unique guitar sound in the market today.

their guitarist, who for this article wont have a name, is commonly (and rightfully) compared to eric clapton, b.b. king, u2's the edge and radiohead's jonny greenwood. wave after wave of sonic boom come through his strapped machine, making it sound like hes not trying at all.

their "theory" for success? theyve found the way through their slave drivers.

nickelback know the trick to putting out a hit song is to throw together any variation of the "c" chord, turn up the distortion, sing with a voice similiar to your aunt hilda whos been a chain smoker for the past 97 years and voila! can anyone say "air (play (hehehe)) miles?"

lyrics? sing (or grunt, perhaps even bark(bad dog)) about lost lovers, its what everyone wants to hear. noone wants to hear anything different.

on their latest offering, theory of a deadman stay true to nickelback, and less obviously, to themselves. theyre a big group as it is, but this journalist believes theyre only one album away from being a stadium act.
