I guess Blur and Oasis could kinda sorta be paralleled with REM and U2 respectively. Blur & REM both lost a band member and became more and more indie/obscure, slowly shunning the spotlight. Not really so much in the case of Blur but you know! Oasis is still doing the kind of music they do best like U2.
