I wanted to do a Dunedin Sound but a list was pretty hard. Here's some stuff you should really look at:
1. Submarine Bells by The Chills (In fact, EVERYTHING by The Chills. You especially can't go wrong with Kaleidoscope World, Brave Words, or Soft Bomb.)
2. Hail by Straitjacket Fits
3. A Cuppa Tea And A Lie Down by Able Tasmans
4. Juvenilia by The Verlaines (Everything from Egon Schiele to Paul Verlaine to Fyodor Dostoyevsky? Definitely the thinking person's band.)

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."
