I think the jeet yet is indicative of the blue collar Northeast, cause I say it too. I never realized Philly had an accent until I went to high school with a bunch of Philly kids and they had issues with pronouncing "O" - like they said hOme - real heavy on the O. It's not a bad accent - a long island one is though. Even to us that have them.

The O in home, Joe, Moe, toe, low, so?, and bow all sound the same, right? I don't think Philly's is wrong.

My buddy says "open" like a Canadian. We always bug him about it.

My repairman came and apparently he's not leaving

the air has been fixed for 30 minutes now. He wanted to use the bathroom and the door fell off in his hand so he fixed that. Yea that was weird. Completely off it's hinges

Now he's monitoring the vents or something :crack:

Is he cute? :hmm:

Cause if he is BOW CHICKA BOW WOW

Sorry I'm of no help.

Sweet Kat, have him fix the leak in the sink while he's at it.

Hey wait, is there some weird 70's music playing in the background...:eyebrow:....maybe this is your 'porn star' moment. You know hot, sweaty repairman and the MILF all alone at home...think about it...:shifty:

I've been trying to make fun of my Philly friends for over 20 years, but I can't mimic the accent at all. All I know is when they say "I''m going home" the O in home really stands out. There's other subtle things that go with the Philly accent, it doesn't hit you like Boston or New York accents - no one ever has to ask me where I'm from when they hear me talk. It could also be that you don't hear the Philly accent on TV and movies so much, probably cause it's hard to mimic - though it's similar to Baltimore's and they do that pretty well on The Wire. And Bruce Willis does it real well in The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.

Canadian lol :cute: . Open, eh?

My wife told me I sounded like an asshole once...:eyebrow:

I don't hear it...

I get that too. I think it's because when we say "Yes, Dear, no problem" it sounds like, "STOP FUCKING NAGGING ME, SHREW WOMAN!" It's the Asshole Accent. Not really much you can do about it.

Stop that right now missy.

It appears that men in CA, MI and Ontario are = stupad (yes, stu-paaad). Like they can't tell when a hot, smart, funny and cool woman is right in front of them. Tossers. (Is that the right language? :uhoh: )

Some know when they think it's too late. ;)

damn that freaked me out. He's gone. I honestly don't know what he's been doing for all this time. He made arrangements with the landlord to come back and check on it. wtf! When did filters need checking on. Not while I'm here

I'm going on a wine and pizza playdate

Haha Ain't that the truth.

Wait. :(

Have fun

I've had the Good Shephard on top of my tv for a week. I need to watch it before evil Blockbuster charges me $2 for a late fee. I want to watch my Office dvds instead.

While I debate, I'm going to pur another glass of wine.

I've had weeds for at least a month now :reject:

I'm looking into getting a taser. It's crazy how fast you can fix your mind on something with the help of google.

Reg I think you're the first person to ever call me that

That's ok, I look like a honeydew that needs a shave. We should a giant cornucopia and disguise our heads and then bite at random passersby.

Though I'm sure you don't look like a pumpkin and those random passersby will tell the cops that "some cute chick and a honeydew that needed a shave tried to eat me. I was mortified." Fuckers.

:lmao: :cute:

I'm sure you don't look like a honeydew and the rest of the nyc gang will tell us both that as we're laughing over shrimp and white wine in two weeks

Btw, TWO WEEKS :hyper:

You can at least to wooder and Iggles, cause those are easy. "Jeet yet?" too. I don't know much about the O. I notice most of these things from reading, not from hearing them.

Many Philadelphians (I'd venture most) try to hide their Philly accent once they leave, which is why it's rarely ever in the media.
