So she just called you out of the blue? Or have you been maintaining some form of contact since you broke up?

Texted me earlier this week. The dinner would be strictly platonic....we did not date all that long, maybe 2 months, it ended in November.

So I'm guessing it ended amicably?

Oh, poor you. For the record, I've met a few NHL players and some MLB players.

My favourite story was bumping into four San Diego Padres players in the subway. This was the night after Tony Gwynn got his 3,000 hit and I recognized Trevor Hoffman, along with three other players who I couldn't name, sitting across from me. I said hello and extended my congratulations to Tony and how I was happy that he hit the milestone in Montreal.

Now some may or may not be aware that Montreal is a party town. The players and i got out together at a station in the downtown area. I asked what they were doing that night and they said they were going to the hotel. I replied: "It's Saturday night in Montreal and you're going to sleep?" So Hoffman asked me to name places on the main party strip where they could have fun. I not only named them but showed them, although they didn't invite me to come along inside. I don't remember if the Padres lost the next day, but if they did I would like to take some credit for it.

That's a cool story. I have a fun Messier story that takes place over 3 days in Vegas.

Lila, I'd not let her pay.

Zoots, it ended oddly, but, not badly.

I'm home, with a lovely bottle of wine and some pasta. The rum & coke will have to wait for later.
