I don't know much of them other than their hits, and that they have a cult-like following, but what little I've heard in the way of jamming I like...I like the way they sort of incorporate funk into it. But again, for me, there's a fine line between an entertaining, good jam, and a long, drawn out boring one.

Kevin Shields is a genius, too....but not as versatile as Frusciante.....that, to me, is what makes Frusciante special....he's very versatile.

Anyway, I'm out for a bit.....Merry XMas to those that celebrate.....see you all later.

ETA - Jam bands just bore me to tears. I like 1 DMB song, though....the space between.....love that song.

Noooo. That doesn't ring a bell at all. I seriously haven't listened to any of those in 10 or 15 years, hence the confusion about the titles. I'll look it up, hang on.

The problem with RHCP live is Kiedis' vocals are much worse. But Frusciante is very good no matter what they're doing:

In 1989, Satriani released the album Flying in a Blue Dream.

Yeah, Kiedis can't sing anymore...and to be honest he phrases every song the same way...

Still Snow (Hey Oh) is one of the best songs in past two years...

Snow's got such awesome guitar that it makes up for Kiedis. That's the case for most RHCP songs. Kiedis really only was good on "Under the Bridge."

I used to like them. Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik era. I can't stand them now. It just sounds like they keep putting the same album out, over and over and over again.
