I feel like in a foreign country. What are you people talking about? PEI? ALTA? Windsor? NS? Are you just making this stuff up? Calgary - lol, that's not even a word.

No, I don't think. In the summer we have festivals almost every weekend, smaller ones in the winter. We also have a lot of conferences here so that helps too. Sports are a big part of our visitor $$, but there is always other stuff going on too.

I'm seriously ashamed. If I left right now, I could be in Quebec in 6 or 7 hours.

I've only ever been to Quebec. I am going to Van in Just though, so maybe I'll try for the other coast later this year too. It's embarrassing

Well I don't mean that in any bady way...my perspective is probably a bit limited...where I grew up if one single industry or attraction changed, entire families would likely starve, or they have to leave to bigger cities..I'm serious, that's how bad it is on the east coast in some places..

I often wonder though what makes all these organizations pick London...no offense, but it's $$$ to have to go there every year with a family...and let's face it, it's pretty drab anywhere in southern ontario at the end of March...lol!

Did you pass Coxsackie? When my friends went to college upstate, and we used to drive up there on weekends, we'd always pass Coxsackie, and being stoned pretty much all the time, laughed everytime we saw the sign. It was always as funny as the very first time!

Upstate NY is like a big....forest. I dunno. It's strange. People downstate always forget it exists. When we do go there it's to go camping or something, and we're always amazed to find that people live there year round.

"So, where ya'll from?"
"Long Island. You?"
"Right here. Born and raised."
"Here? You mean, like, New Jersey?"
"No, right here. I'm a New Yorker."
"lol."
"Yep. Still live here."
"But....how? I mean, like.....where do you eat?"
"Goddamn Long Island people. There's a reason everyone hates you."
"Dude - I think he's gonna make us squeal like pigs, let's get out of here!"
"HEY - Where ya'll goin?"
"Uhhh....Calgary!"
"Calgary?....that ain't even a word."

You know what I hate about NY?

Noone knows where they goddamn live. Ask someone in Manhattan how to get off the island. You'll drive for hours. Ask someone in Brooklyn how to get to even East NY, much less the Bronx. They have no clue. I could give better tri-state directions than 80% of native New Yorkers, it's obscene.

LOL

ETA: NY route 17 - now that's one pretty stretch of road. I never take the Interstate way to NYC, way too boring...390 to 17 all the way!!

I've heard about how bad it is on the east coast - some places are like that here too - Sarnia would be a ghost town w/o petrochemicals.

London is pretty central, (generally)good facilities from hosting all of the games etc. we host, lots of hotel rooms, and it's close for US teams if you want your tournament to be international lol.

I agree about the drab - I was grateful for the rain yesterday - giving everything a good wash, now we just need the sun & some greenery

Thanks, Gabe. What am I looking at here? These are provinces - which are different than territories, right? What's the difference?
