Yeah but you're an idiot on your own terms, so that's a bit different than Dalton's dilemma...

A valid point, Reg. Very valid, per se, if you will.

So my brother in law and his gf were telling me all about Rock Band. It seems that I can finally live out my dream of being a drummer. And then they told me it cost like $180 and I went back to a real guitar. It was sad. When I come back - I'm going to be a drummer. Maybe I was John Bonham in a past life. OR - maybe I'm Stephen Perkins NOW - but in an alternate reality? SWEET! I rock. I don't need no Rock Band to dominate the drums.

And may I add: It is fucking freezing today. Come on!

I wish I could've been a singer/drummer, like Sheila E.

we have snow days here, sometimes it snows 30 inches or so in a day and the city has trouble keeping up. Today no snow just cold.

Of the 12 feckless wonders in my class 9 did not attend because it is “cold” today. All nine of these are male, ages 20 and up. Six of them drive to class and park quite close, three walk from their dorm not more than a quarter mile away. The three who did attend also walk the same distance and there were no observable signs of hypothermia. I suspect the absent slackers were not so much “cold” as they are “lazy” And they will be rewarded with a “test” come Wednesday.

There used to be 16 FW’s but four dropped because I was “mean” and required them to attend and do research while they were there.

I'm an amateur. I leave creative excusing to the Pros

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee

And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue

He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

"It is always
Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter

To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella

And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos

I'm pretending
Not to see them
Instead
I pour the milk

I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor

Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of

And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies

When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head

There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?

No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection

And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt

And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Has gotten wet

Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening

To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice...

And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began...

I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train
