Laser Tag is awesome.

I remember one time I was there and a group of college age guys came in (I was in middle school at the time). Well one of the guys was wearing a bright Hawaiian t-shirt, such an easy target in the blacklight so I just followed him around and kept shooting him. Man he was pissed

how's she doing at school VP? not the scholastic part - I'm sure she's doing a great job in that respect.
She's doing really, really well, thanks. She's got her own posse now, a group of kids she met in the first week or so. One of them is this guy who was a year behind her in high school - they knew each other, but didn't really hang in the same circles, but now they're close friends. I think she's having a good time. She's a little freaked out and stressed about declaring a major - hasn't found anything that has really struck her as the one thing she wants to do, but I told her not to worry about it, many of the kids in the honours psych program I got to know had changed majors two or three times.

I've only done it once, and it was like eight or nine years ago (it's weird referring to elementary school as eight or nine years ago - I'm getting old, fuck).
She's 19.

Yeah she doesn't need to worry about declaring a major yet. Many of my friends have changed several times

That's great, sounds like she's settled in really well, and I'm sure it helped that she sort of knew someone. she may change her mind, if so, what's the worst that can happen? I'm sure she'll be great in whatever field she chooses

At her/my school you're supposed to do it by the end of this term so you can go into your 2nd year with some direction. But really, it's not that big of a deal, I told her if she's unsure to delay it till next year.

This term she's taking Intro to Psych and Intro to Sociology, and it sounds like she's enjoying them both. She said to me "it feels like I'm taking over your life." Heh.

I don't know. I found the intro courses to be a really poor indicator of my eventual interest in an area. Intro courses are mostly boring. I don't think you can judge well enough till you get into some of the meatier courses.

She knows enough about psych through osmosis that I'm sure she could skip the intro course.

I don't know, it sort of sucks that so much in Arts (and most of the subjects she's interested in) pretty much all you can do with a degree is teach, and she doesn't want to do that. I mean, who the hell hires historians? Or classical studies majors?

I told her to just concentrate on finding a wealthy spouse while at school, who will keep her (and eventually me, as well) in the style that we would like to become accustomed to.
