It's been almost 4 yrs since I was there last.. that place!
can you think of places to visit? i've already suggested the following:

grafton street
malahide castle/beach
st patrick's cathedral
botanic gardens

OH and check out st stephen's green!! that is a must. there's loads of bars, but i think my favorites were wheelan's and porterhouse. any bar you walk into will have live music, which is just wonderful.

Another thing that makes my decision much more difficult is that in December, as soon as I would get back from Prague, my parents will be moving to North Carolina. That would be a really difficult transition for me, I wouldn't even be coming home to something familiar. I'd be coming to my parents moving into retirement, and me suddenly in limbo because after I graduate I'd need to find a job and a place to live somewhere in Virginia, preferably staying in Richmond. But still, next year things will be moving much faster for me than I would like into the "real world", and that makes things even more difficult.

Because in America we do this thing called VOTING on these electric machines that decide for us who we vote for - unlike in Canada where the King tells you what to do and drinks tea and makes you listen to his pronouncements all day on little radios in your huts and igloos. We're not communists here. We are allowed* to be against our elected officials here. Laura is just expressing her God given (read: God given - NOT EVOLVED!) right.

The Islanders won the shootout, which surprised me. Dubie pulled through and pwned the Rangers - that was nice. But I don't know why they are unable to hold onto a lead. Ugh.

* May be subjected to Waterboarding - but that's ok - it's not torture.

when you're away at college you spend so much time away from home anyway though. while, it definitely won't be familiar, and may take some getting used to, i really don't think you'll have problems finding a place to work and live in richmond. you've already made some really important connections where i don't think that will even be an issue. haha i really think the tougher transition will be getting used to the u.s. after coming from europe moreso than getting used to a different house

Laura, my only advice to you:

Don't think yourself to death. There are great reasons to go, there are great reasons to stay. You've been told to follow your heart, cannot argue with that, but I'd say follow your instincts. You're a smart girl who likely has not taken too many missteps in her life. So, you typically make good decisions, yes? If so, your gut feelings are likely correct.....so listen to that. Then again, nobody should ever listen to me, so, damnit.

I'm back.

Mia, you're gonna hate me, but I won a free donut at Tim Horton's this morning!

As for the trouble I got into in Ireland? Well, among many things was the almost getting kicked out of the hostel in Dublin.

We were young and stupid, and one day we thought it would be fun to throw water balloons out of our window. We always aimed to miss people, but get it close enough so that it would startle them. One woman was not amused, so she came into the hostel, demanded that we be kicked out, etc. We ended up having to pay for her drycleaning because she got splashed a little bit. Our professor yelled at us several times, and threatned to send us home. It was hard to take him seriously, because we knew he wouldn't, but there you go.

OMG!!! DONUT!!! They are so bad and so good. I had 2 this morning because I've had a craving ever since you first posted the picture. Now I feel gross.

That's funny about the water balloons! I don't know how I managed to stay out of trouble but I did. Do you have pictures?

That they are! I feel kinda sick after my sugar overload this morning.

I have lots of pictures! Not sure if there are any of the water balloon incident, but I know I have tons of the other stuff we did.

SWEET! I'd love to see them sometime. I can share my pictures too. I'm an oaf though, and I bring my camera but usually forget that I have it. So I don't have many. My roommate took loads. I can't find the CD he sent me though

OMG - The Badass Cafe was one of my favourite restaurants! I'm writing a PM to her right now, and I've mentioned that. SO FUN!!
